The performance management system addresses critical issues in the
measurement of and improvement of the performance of the employees.

In order to achieve this objective, a performance management policy is developed
to document the broad management directions and standards that will drive the
Performance Management system.


The policy areas covered are as follows:

 Performance management system philosophy
 Performance Appraisal Timing/Frequency
 Appraisal responsibility
 Eligibility
 Controls
 Administration
 Review Committee

• Assessment of performance for each staff must be against clearly specified performance criteria as documented on the appraisal forms and shall be subject to control/reviews.

• There shall be five performance levels/rating scales for measuring overall performance for all categories of staff as listed below in ascending order:

 Unsatisfactory/Unacceptable
 Below average
 Average/Satisfactory
 Very Good
 Outstanding/Exceptional

Formal discussion of performance with individual employees for each feedback/appraisal period shall be mandatory.
