Also there is a thread on nairaland: Have you seen a programmer that rides a Range Rover Sport (paraphrased)

about this "Have you seen a programmer that rides a Range Rover Sport (paraphrased)" I think the poster was having some sorta crisis with his carreer

Do what you love and you will never have to work a day in your life. Programmers live a simple and modest life, they ride bicycles to work that cost way more than $20k.

maybe Nigerian programmers suffer....with their stupid pride. I use the Russians and Indians if I need any job done.

But seriously, the picture says nothing particular to programmers, rather it demonstrates the different levels of authority in any project\organization. You can be sure that most of the managers above where once programmers when they started but their careers have progressed through time such that they'd acquired more strategic roles and they now need other low-level programmers to take care of the detailed processes of an application\project. Start little and with time your role will change and you'd climb,. It dosen't mean you are a non-programmer overseeing the works of programmers.

Are the CEO's of facebook, google, nairaland, yahoo, etc not programmers?
