Who's failure is it to protect these people? Is it the Jtf with meager allocations or the ex- militant turned contractors? Have we not seen that crime perpetrators are having unimaginable freedom under this regime. I just wish God almighty will call these leaders to order. |

Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, has statutory security roles on the nation’s territorial waters. A few short months ago, the federal government performed a Strategic Concessioning of the nation’s waterways to Global West Vessel Specialist Agency, GWVSA, owned by a "former" terrorist Tompolo, for a minimum of $103million. One would think that Tompolo, The Navy, and NIMASA would have obtained enough intelligence to thwart this kind of piracy. If the vessel involved was into bunkering, why didn't Tompolo's security outfit and others, impound the vessel before the pirates got to them. Did the pirates have better intelligence than Tompolo, NIMASA, and the Navy Let them continue to deceive themselves. SMH |

There has never been a clear cut leader in militancy struggle. It had always been pockets of criminals (under the guise of militants)operating in the Niger Delta. Most Niger Deltans knew this fake (illegal) amnesty will result to bigger problems in future. |

Is it like captain Jack Sparrow? What do the Pirates look like? |
Re: Pirates Kidnap Seven Expatriates In Bayelsa by codedguy1(m): 12:22pm On Oct 18, 2012 |
We are just deceiving ourselves in this contraption called Nigeria. Am sure that vessel is into bunkering, maybe given a free passage of way but got interrupted by these terrorist/miltants who saw an opportunity.criminals stealing from bunkerers, that's the way I sEe it. That's our common wealth being sHared. How NIMASA and the Navy seem to be under an ex militant in security issues on our waters is best imagined. Something is definitely wrong with us in this country. |

Re: Pirates Kidnap Seven Expatriates In Bayelsa by jpphilips(m): 11:53am On Oct 19, 2012 |
well, that may make Borbon sit up to review their expatriate quota, deckhand (conductor), captain, beach master all na oyibo, yet our locals are jobless committing crime. |

jp philips: Bro don't worry, it was clear from the beginning of Ajanle's disgustingly prejudiced generalisation, he and the other guy have no clue about the industry, talkless of being in it as I saw they didn't even know that the company is Bourbon Interoil and not Bobon or whatever, and think that being Russian is being a bunkerer . They are simply ignorant and I blame the reporter for this. No need for argument. |
