Scam Or Real? by Roborwisi: 9:58pm On Oct 22, 2012
Hey peeps, i need ur help on this one. I searched through Google Trader and saw this advert of BB Curve 5 for 25,000NGN only. Too good to be true i exclaimed so i called the advertiser.
Surprise! He said its for real so I told him I needed 2. He said he'll give me a Nokia C5 free if i'm buying 2. Then i asked why? He said He's a Customs Officer and they are auctioning siezed goods. How possible is this?

SCAM or REAL?
Why should customs auction siezed goods? I've not cease wondering. Someone tell me!

If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. So long as you are not told to send money first then receive your goods later, it might be worth your trial. But the rule still applies (caveat empthor).

I have heard so many negative things about Google Trader. But if mugu must loss, maga must pay!!!

True.

I'd suggest the OP read the policies of Google on GT cos they highlight some issues the OP mentioned.

It's safe to receive delivery of your item before payment than to pay before delivery - the seller loses little if the buyer defaults on payment on delivery (he still has ownership of the goods) than when the buyer makes an advance payment with little or no assurance of getting anything in return.

Stay safe on Google Trader

Most people connect with others via Google Trader successfully and safely.

However, there are occasional reports of scams. Here are some useful tips to help you stay safe:

Buyers should be wary of:

» Extremely low prices for expensive or popular items.

» Promises of earning quick money with little effort.

» Sellers wanting payments before delivering the item you have purchased.

» Anyone asking you to wire money directly into their account, or who claims to only take Western Union or Money Gram or similar forms of payment.

» Someone who provides a different address or contact details than what is stated on his or her details page.

» Anyone claiming that Google Trader will guarantee a transaction, certify either buyer or seller, or will handle or provide protection for a payment. Any such claim is fraudulent as Google Trader is not involved in any transactions.

When you meet:

» Meet in a safe, public place.

» Inspect the item before you complete the transaction to make sure it is exactly what has been described and it is what you wanted.
