A Question For Webmasters. by Charlesnerd(op): 4:17pm On Oct 29, 2012
Ok.I dont know if this is the appropriate section, but I feel I would get an answer here. Here it goes...

I am an IT enthusiast ,and I have a small web hosted server which I use to run my virtual (cloud) desktop. Now, I host this server myself using a public IP address issued by my ISP, which I would call ISP A.Recently,ISP A has been offering poor services which they blame on incessant fiber cuts, this affected me adversely as I could not access some important files on my web server whenever I am on the go.

To forestall such issues,I engaged another ISP which I would call ISP B.With ISP B,I intend to make my web server accessible via the two public IP addresses provided the ISPs,by providing redundancy and fail-over just in the event of service disruption from any ISP.

Now,my question is.....

1. Can I load-balance traffic between the two public IP addresses?If yes,how?

2.Is it possible to load-balance between these two servers in such a way that if any of the ISPs goes offline, the DNS resolution does not forward traffic through the offline public IP,but only through the available public IP.This should be an automatic process, without any manual intervention.

Suggestions are welcomed.....
