LEADERSHIP gathered, the bureau prepared various "chargeable offences" against some of the governors before the 2007 general elections. For example, Sam Egwu, former governor of Ebonyi State, was discovered to have falsified his declaration of assets, allegedly built the five-star Grace Court Hotel when he was a public officer, which was not declared he owned; a duplex in his home town, which was acquired between 1999 and 2003 during his first tenure but not declared in 2003; jointly built an international school with his spouse with state funds.
