Peter and Paul bought the same piece of land from Oluwa family in Lakwe, both got exactly the same documents (deed of assignment). Peter bought his on Dec 12 2009 but paul bought his on July 19 2010. But paul has gone ahead to perfect his document and now has gorvernor's consent. Now Paul is about to develop and there is Peter laying claims to the land. My question to this forum is who is the legal owner of the land. Thanks for your contributions.

I think peter owns the land, because he bought first. If you buy a stolen vehicle and then go ahead to perfect its papers, that still doesn't give you the right to lay legal claim. My two cents!

Land belongs to Peter. Let Paul get his money back from the criminal agent/ land owner.
People should be jailed for double dealing in lands and related matters.
