Try and use a good dictionary that you'l see the phonetics of the word in it. (I use Encarta Dictionaries on my PC)
Test yourself daily by reading a novel, newspaper or whatever..
Try Vocalization when reading - Pronuncing the words out.

Listen to programmes and news on the BBC either through the radio or tele. As u learn to pronounce words correctly, u can also check up their meanings in a dictionary, form sentences and try to use such words in ur everyday speech.
