There is a dire need for muslim organisations to urgently face the challenge of securing land for the purpose of burying our dead. One will be easily shocked to observe the way the dead are treated in our public cemetries. The safety of the dead is not in any way guaranteed as there have been several reported cases of sales of human parts. The practise of also travelling several miles to bury our dead ones in our places of origin is far from islam. Minimal cost should be incurred in burial arrangements. The burial grounds should be such that will be well protected and if need be a modest sum could be charged to cater to the running costs. I have also noticed that our brothers from the north have cemetries dedicated to thier dead here in lagos. Our muslim organisations should wake up to this challenge as death is inevitable and should be properly planned for. Wal 'aaqibatu lil muttaqeen.
