Nigerians complain about how much 'our corrupt government' have impoverished Nigeria as if we are not part of the problem.

Every aspect of Nigeria today has become corrupt, even our churches. Corrupt practices have become the new normal. Our movies (hence our fantasies) are usually about how a struggling guy won a government contract and becomes rich overnight. Even pastors tell testimonies encouraging these sharp practices.

Painfully, we all complain; the corrupt lecturer complains about the bribe collecting police officers who in turn complain about corrupt NEPA staffs etc. In government, it is all about the award of contracts, release of funds and probing the whereabout of the funds after few months.

Nigerians are the only people in the world with no interest in living within their means. Multinationals are reluctant about coming to Nigeria because we are all about striking for more money in addition to other corrupt practices. India's/China's growth are as a result of the cheap and clean labour they offered the west.

A University professor is appointed into a permanent secretary position with less salary and he goes to church for thanksgiving.

It's all about money, our ladies do not date upcoming guys anymore; and when they manage such guys, they keep comparing him to his mates until he consents to sharp means of bringing money home. There is no dignity in labour in Nigeria; little jobs are all given derogatory names. Charity has no place in our lives, only rich men are respected

Decency is not respected; we all want elaborate weddings/burials regardless of our means. Call a chief 'Mr' and see how quick you are corrected.

For any government to be popular, he has to make money available for sharing in every organisation. Accountability? sorry, not in Nigeria

Our problem is more about our money culture and lack of structure rather than individual politician.

When next you think Nigeria should be better than this, think what you can do or stop doing for Nigeria to become better
