i think MTN has sorted out every beef they've got with their servers. was able to pull out 5gig in a very short while.
thanks to the fact tht u guyz are asleep too, so the server isnt clogged.

Downloads still wont work on phones that dont allow the access of user data, its a java security thingy, java isnt allowed to access just anywhere on ur pc without permission so the same applies to phones.

its best to set download location to memory card cuzz acess wld be denied if left at phone memory.

Here is something i found about my n70-1 that does'nt allow user data both on C and D.mine sees mmc as D.i came up with creating OPERA folders in all these categories in D: images,videos,others,sounds.etc.that was the only way i got ride of the java security tin by letting my opera recognice it's folder in these categories and was able to download and save.so you see different phone,different problem,different solution.

i no longer use the n70 so i can't really remember the right order. but its something like this

Settings > Phone > Network > choose UMTS

if u're within 3g coverage, all good. if not, there will be no service reception so u'll have to change from UMTS back to GSM

The order is settings>network>network mode:dual mode. Operator selection should always be in manual and not automatic okay. Umts is not in such a phone, but phones like 6120c should have three options. @Dualcore,i dey feel u o on top that your dangerous speed. U don beat initialize record be that.

for night, i just carry fone sey make i see wetin speed go dey like now wey all the massive downloaders dey sleep o. lol and i was getting that.

i dont think there is anything else to do in addition to putting ur stuff before the download link.

what errors are u having?
all i did was put ma stuff b4 the download link and changed download location to memorycard (e:\. . .)

@dragnet.I thought as much.My N70 is always on automatic.I even downloaded prison break s4 episode 15 (62Mb)this morning around 6am with Mtn 3G.The speed is something else.I prefer using opera 8.65 for my download.@Dual core.Pls don't run mtn down with your download o.Lol

I quite appreciate what some of u guys are doing. Personally, i don't like posting any trick here because like u may have observed some people here go behind to make money from our efforts. This i find very saddening. Others resort to blackmail so u release the trick to them. I always make it known i sell my tricks. don't call me if u can't pay. If u must ride on my train u have got to pay for the ticket.

However, Initialise just blaze the trail and i want to take it further.

MTN on PC USING FREEDOM CLIENT.

1.Register on this site: www.your-freedom.net
A message will be sent to ur email. Click on the link provided to activate
your account. please make sure u remember your username n password.

2.Use the link below to download the your-freedom client software:
http://ems01.your-freedom.de/download/freedom-20081212-01.exe

3. Instal this software. After installation two window pops up. Just close
the WELCOME page and continue with the other one.

4. Click on "CONFIGURE". A new window pops out

5.Under Address use: 10.199.212.8@ems11.your-freedom.de
Go to "protocol" and click on the box. Change it to "https", the port
automatically changes to "443"

6. Tick/check the following boxes:
a. automatically connect on startup
b. reconnect after server shutdown
c. redirect SOCKS4/5 DNS to freedom server
d. Enable encryption
Leave the others.

7. Go to "Account Information" tab. Input the Username and password u used
on step one above.

8. Go to " Proxy settings". Under Proxy address: 10.199.212.2, Proxy Port: 8080. Thats all u need to do here.

9. Look under and click on the tab "Save and Exit".This window disappears.

10. Go to the Your-freedom client window again and click on the tab
"Ports". Tick/check/mark the boxes:
SOCKS 4/4 and Web Proxy.

11. Go to the tab "Applications" and mark/tick.check all the needed boxes.
Hit the "OK" when u are done. U should get a successful message.

12. Go back to the tab "Status". In the interim just minimise this window.
We shall get back to it.

13. Now this is very important. Launch ur Browser.
For Firefox(Mozilla) brower:
Go to: Tools---Options----Advanced---Network---Settings.
In the settings mark the box "Manual proxy configuration.
Under HTTP Proxy use: localhost Port: 8080.
Mark/tick/check the box " use this proxy server for all protocols".
After this just go down and click "OK".
For Internet explorer:
Got to: Tools---Internet Options---Connections---Settings
Proxy: localhost
Port: 8080
Mark the box " bypass proxy , " "Apply" and u are done.
For Opera( please i don't have this on my system right nw but i hope i got the route
right)
Tools---Preferences--network---proxy settings
Click on all the boxes that needs a Ip and Port input and use:
Proxy: localhost
Port: 8080
Just Ok and this is done.
For Yahoo messenger:
Go to:
Messenger----Connection Preferences
Tick/mark/click on "No proxies" only
Under Server name: localhost
Server port: 8080
Thats all .

14. Go back to your-freedom client and click on the tab "Start connection".
Make sure u watch the freedom server logo just by the right. Initially u
will see a question mark, once this changes and u see an Open door then u
are connected.

Although this tutorial took me awhile to type as i hate typing i just hope
u all find it useful.

Downside: This disconnects every hour and u have an 18hrs allocation per
week for every username. A maximum connection of 6hrs per day is applicable
too.
If u have need to upgrade to 24hrs free browsing and a greater bandwith
using this option just hit me prompto. This however will cost u a little.

However, u can stick to the Opera 7.54u2 options which i believe u can find somewhere in the Phone section. please please don't ask me to post that here too because am so tired o.

It works perfectly on vista. I got a dude who currently runs his on Vista.

Of course i wouldn't post if i got no contingency plans. To be frank there is a PLAN C. I have gone beyond PLAN B. Guys, just enjoy it jare while it last.
