Gunmen kill ex-Lagos council boss

A gang of four gunmen on Sunday night shot dead a former chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Mr. Toyin Hamzat, as he dropped off a female companion in Sagamu, Ogun State.

PUNCH learnt that Hamzat was shot dead after the four gunmen blocked his car as the lady alighted around 9p.m.

They were said to be returning from a party when the shooting occurred.

The spokesman for the Ogun State Police Command, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone.

He said four suspects had already been arrested in connection with the murder.
