JTF offers N290 million reward for information on Boko Haram Leader, 18 others
The military Joint Task force (JTF) in Borno state has placed a reward of N290 million for anybody with useful information that will lead to the arrest of the Boko Haram’s leader, Abubakar Shekau; 14 sect commanders and four others in connection with terrorists activities in the North East geo political zone of the country .
The declaration of the Boko Haram sect members on the wanted lists is contained in a statement signed by the spokesman of the JTF in Borno State; Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa and made available to newsmen in Maiduguri the Borno state capital.
The JTF placed a bounty of N50 million on the head of Mr Shekau and N10 million each for the 14 commanders.
According to the statement, the sect leader and his commanders are wanted in connection with terrorist activities particularly in the North-East zone of the country that led to series of killings, bombings, assassination of some traditional and religious leaders, business men, civil servants, politicians, security personnel among other innocent people.
The statement further added thatthey are wanted by the JTF for arson, and destruction of property worth millions of Naira.
The JTF further said volunteers with useful information will be given adequate protection, as their information will be treated with utmost confidentiality. The statement said anyone with information should forward such to the following telephone numbers: 09064174066, 08154429345 and 070855464012.
The Boko Haram commanders on the JTF wanted list include:
(i) Abu Saad,
(ii) Abba Kaka,
(iii) Abdulmalik Bama,
(iv) Umar Fulata,
(v) Alhaji Mustapha (Massa) Ibrahim,
(vi) Abubakar Suleiman-Habu (akaKhalid)
(vii) Hassan Jazair,
(viii) Ali Jalingo,
(ix) Alhaji Musa Modu,
(x) Bashir Aketa and
(xi) Abba Goroma
(xii) Habibu Yusuf (aka Asalafi),
(xiii) Khalid Albarnawai,
(xiv) Momodu Bama and
(xv) Mohammed Zangina.
Others are: Ibrahim Bashir, Abubakar Zakariya and Tukur Ahmed mohammed.
The activities of the sect members brought various activities within the north-east geopolitical zone of the country toa standstill as scores of people were killed and property worth millions of Naira destroyed.
States worse hit within the zone are Borno and Yobe states and their operations in recent times were faced with severe resistance from the Nigerian security forces.
