Ghana's Attorney General's Website Hacked By Argentine Group by moderatorr: 11:48pm On Nov 26, 2012
The Ministry of Justice and Attorney-General's official website has reportedly been hacked by a group which describes itself as citizens of Argentina with special skills.
The group says its action is as a result of government's refusal to release an Argentine Navy ship-the Frigate Libertad it impounded a few months ago. In view of that, the hackers have warned to unleash "hell" on the nation by attacking some government websites, banks, stock exchanges and some mining companies operating in the country.

"This is a warning. If you (referring to Ghana) refuse to release our Libertad Frigate in three days, we will unleash hell on you. We will attack all your government websites, all your banks, your stock exchange, all your gold and oil companies," the hackers said in a statement displayed on the hacked site of the Justice Ministry.

Ghana prevented an Argentine Naval ship from leaving its shores a few months ago after a local court ruled in favour of a financial fund backed by an American billionaire.

The fund says it is owed $370m (£233m) by the Argentine government as a result of its debt default a decade ago.

It is seeking $20m in return for the release of the ship, a three-masted training vessel.

Consequently, the Argentina government took the matter to United Nations court and argued that the seizure violates maritime law.

Below is unedited statement displayed on the hacked website of the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General.

Ministry of IN-Justice HACKED!!!

Dear People of Ghana,

Your Government have illegaly seized our Libertad frigate, a School ship belonging to the Argentine Navy. Your Government is violating the Vienna Convention by failing to ensure the immunity of a Navy ship as the frigate Libertad.

This School ship have a very special meaning for our people. Help us to get back our Libertad frigate! We ask you as brothers.

Government of Ghana,

We are a citizens of Argentina, citizens with a very particular set of skills; skills that make us a nightmare for you.

This is a warning. If you refuse to release our Libertad Frigate in three days, we will unleash HELL on you. We will attack all your government websites, all your banks, your stock exchange, all your gold and oil companies, your energy and water companies, we will publish on Internet all your personal banking records, the ones in your country and the ones abroad, and more!

Your country will spend millions in loses, is not necessary, you just have to enforce international law. Three days...
