omo, how is it obvious? just because you have a diff music taste does not mean others are retarded. we dnt all have to like what you like. . .that'll be annoying and boring if we all like that same songs na, abi?
Re: David's song collection by Nobody: 5:31am On Feb 27, 2008
@ ocho cinco
It did not capture my mood neither did it uplift my mind. Salif Keita would have been a better choice if I wanted to listen to that kind of music, based on not what they are saying but on how the strings are played.

Your musical palatte is irredeemable. I am hoping to rescue Stillwater's

So carry go

I don't need any rescuing, I'm comfortable with my taste. Anyway the guy plays the guitar well but its the voice that just puts me off. And what do you mean by Salif Keita is trite? What is the meaning of trite?

nice songs here . Including stillwater's too (salif keita).  I'm sure there's comparable Nigerian music.

This song by another Malian- Habib Koite- is embedded in Windows media player. At least that's how I found it. Very touching rhythm.

Din Din Wo. ( means Little Child)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSLiavMjd50

from wiki:

One of Koité's best known songs, "Cigarette Abana" (No more cigarettes), was first recorded in 1991. A new Latin-style version on his later CD Baro, along with the song "Nanalé", won Koite the Radio France International Discoveries Prize in 1992. After this recognition, Koité was able to launch his first tour outside of Africa in 1994. He met his manager the next year, and released his first album, Muso Ko which rose to #3 on the European World Music Charts. Two tracks from Muso Ko, I Ka Barra, and Din Din Wo were included with Microsoft Windows Vista, meaning that his music will be installed on many millions of PCs. His follow-up album, Ma Ya, also did very well.
