First things first, skyfall is for me the 3rd best film of the year behind avengers and dark knight rises. This is a movie that revived the bond franchise as it provided one rare scenario where the critics and fans loved whole heartedly. Many went as far as callin it the best bond movie ever. Now here's my dilemma. Based on d reactions I read for it on nairaland and other naija media outlet, most nigerian movie watchers were indifferent and many didn't really feel it. Now this movie has surpassed avatar as d most successfull movie in uk achievin dat in 40days a record avatar achieved in 11months. Am lost cos it doesn't ad up. Hv nigerian viewers been contaminated by nollywood asper xpectations or is d contamination from watchin all d cartoons brosnan dished out cos I cudnt relate to his movies xcept mayb golden eye. Do factors like dialogue and screenwritin not important anymore? I really didn't get it.

My problem with the movie is if daniel craig james bond is a reboot of the franchise starting with his first kill in casino royale why does he look so worn out at the end of skyfall ? Skyfall for me was a good movie maybe a second viewing will give me a better perspective but for now I don't think all the buzz its getting is deserved.the casting was great though.

I certainly won't call skyfall the best James bond movie ever as long as golden eye exists, however its d best daniel craig bond movie yet. It did make some ripple inthe very large pool of awesome hit movies of 2012 so I'd give it some credit.

Now wat this means is dat more pple are going back to see it after bein really impressed. So if its not that good y are pple going back to see it. For a former no.1 to go back to no.1 in d presence of other impresive new movies speaks volumes of its quality.

I quite agree with you on the Brosnan's cartoonish films. He only oozed sex appeal not the bond we know. I haven't seen skyfall though, but I just love Craig's bond movies- very realistic (kind of reminds me of Dalton's who is/was my favorite until Craig ).

Did you really predict that Bardem's character was going to escape and head to the courthouse to try and finish M, or that a train was going to break through the wall underground to destroy anyone following him on his way there?

The book was great when I read it several years ago, but movie adaptations of books often don't live up to the quality of the books.

I think Django Unchained is going to be the real next hit of the year. Hopefully in that film Tarantino can match what he did with Inglourious Basterds.

WHAT were the producers thinking !?!?! Seriously, EVERY Bond movie MUST HAVE a beautiful Bond Babe, but this one just showed fleeting moments with the beautiful powerful actress Bérénice Marlohe [ A.K.A. "Sévérine" ] ; a truly powerful actress who was severely and criminally UNDERUSED in this movie. What a damn shame.
I was really looking fwd to seeing much more of her in this movie. She definitely has the "it" factor.

they have a skyfall forum here aww I wud have been here sooner wanted to talk about the most amusing day of my life @ the cinemas I remember watching skyfall with my frnd after she actually told me it was better than casino royale and QOS combined, so here we are @ the cinemas where roger moore(hope u don't mind I didn't feel daniel craig in this movie @ all) is chasing an assassin on a rooftop with a MOTORCYCLE(dat's right) I had this puzzled look on my face cos. It didn't look realistic and for sure did not look cool, next bond is on a train with this same assassin who is shooting blindly @ bond and rather than bond waiting for him to empty his gun, bond gets into a digger and begins to swing it like a merry go round it didn't even shock me wen roger moore got shot cos that was the silliest thing he cud think of doing now some aurexic black chick is covering the show and giving live commentary to some spectators at MI6 all of a sudden the chick hops out of her car and points a gun at bond and the assassin who are wrestling each other(boringly)on top the train and she says she has a shot at the assassin but she might hit bond, M didn't care anyway and orders the chick to "take the bloody shot"which she did but hitting bond instead (wait a minute didn't she just say she had a shot I was expecting her to hit them both) then bond falls and sinks into a river and I am wondering aloud how the Bleep is he gonna survive this one?M is stylishly fired from MI6 and she's upset and all of a sudden her office is being hacked. And I'm like man M is such an idiot in this movie and my frnd goes shhhh just then M's office blows up and I'm like weren't they just hacking her office computer just now? Then like jesus christ, 3 months later roger moore is resurrected on some beach resort with a lovely view complete with all the booze u can drink and all the ladies u can hump however I don't think they have too many doctors cause we later find out that bond still has a bullet in his shoulder. Any way,bond feels they need his help to tackle a cyber terrorist they can't see?so he returns to london and the following conversation ensues between bond and an M who was initially typing his obituary

And I began giggling @ such a silly scene next bond takes the silliness to a new level whereby roger moore tries to convince us that 3 months is enough for u to suck at cardio evaluation,marksman ship evaluation and even a psychological evaluation in which he calls M a bitch but rather than sending him to a mental clinic ,M puts him on the field anyway perhaps because 006 and 009 were on holiday or something then bond shows us that he is some wolverine kind of mutant when he takes out a 3 month old bullet from his left(turned right) shoulder and when it was analyzed dig this it so happens that only three criminals in the world use this type of bullet and of course our assassin from istanbul is one of them(did they have to wait three months to make that breakthrough with the billion bullets the assassin actually fired at istanbul why didn't they just pick one from the floor and analyze it),bond is at an art museum when this ugly,skinny, humorless weirdo in glasses shows up and introduces himself as Q and I gave an audible ew! Which caused a guy near me to chuckle a bit perhaps he knew what I was thinking then he hands bond two gadgets that were as stupid as the Q himself and walks away bond then catches up with bullet man @ Shanghai and thot it was a good idea to dangle him out of a window when he needed to gain information from him wen the dude fell out the window I was expecting bond to wait for him to wake up three months later after all bond cud do that then instead of bond taking to his heels(cause every idiot will know that a body dropping from a skyscrapper+ a witness @ the adjacent building=POLICE) he carefully searches the dead assassins things and finds a poker chip(seriously?so if not for a poker chip bond would have been @ a dead end) and I'm begin to laff uncontrollably that my frnd had to give me an angry stare to shut me up I was pinging on my fone when all of a sudden I find bond and some fat chinese dude in some pit. Doing some geisha kinda dance when some CGI lizard creature creeps out of the shadows and I begin pray God don't let this scene get any more silly God please but of course it does the fat guy gets eaten by this creature while roger moore laffs his ass off at him however he hops on another CGI creature and gets out of the pit,and the black aurexic chick is standing next to him with some brief case and they both share a boring choreographed one liner before bond gets Hot and then hops out of the zoo perhaps to a yacht to rape some chick while she's taking a shower (hey!get roger moore off my screen), the following day bond Is taken to some bad guys lair(I thot they were over that shit)when some disney character hops out of the elevator, @ first i think he is the storyteller for the bad guy but later when no other bad guy shows up I assume the childish man is the villain yuk! Then he and bond begin to have pre-intimacy sex which made the bad guy even more irritating then the gal bond humps on the boat is shot in the head for no reason whatsoever then roger moore does what he does best which is insult our intelligence by killing 4 armed escorts simultaneously even tho roger moore was unarmed then he holds disney guy @ gun point just in time for a rescue team to show up and take disney guy to MI6 and I was like yay bond has caught the bad guy now I can finally go home. But then its said that disney dude is M's spanish son who she sold to the chinese and as a result has no teeth (is that why he is killing other MI6 agents because he isn't pretty?) at this point I was so glad I wasn't the one that paid for the tickets to watch this junk,then Q shows us how stupid he is when he hooks up a computer without scanning for any virus then disney guy with the aid of some faith,trust and pixie dust escapes(surprise surprise) then Q begins narrating to us that disney guy wanted to be captured so he could talk to M, if he wanted to talk to M so badly why didn't he just stop by her house or even skype with her? Q does another stupid thing by calling the cops to seal up the subway so bond and disney dude can play their little pac man game without hurting anyone but he forgot to ask them to evacuate the court house where M was having a public hearing(for being an idiot spy boss) then bond finds disney guy and starts shooting blindly at him then stops to catch his breath and have a chat with disney guy and when they were done, disney guy goes hey bond behind u and a train comes out of no where and wrecks the entire room and initially I was beginning to think that disney guy has magic powers but then it dawned on me, disney guy is supposed to be joker from batman u knw funny playful yet dangerous(of course bond producers forgot that joker is actually a schizophrenic that is why he so playful) so disney guy instead of casting some spell to get the security out of the court room he simply strolls in with a barreta(and some idiots behind him) and starts shooting everybody's ass of course bond being the only man who can save the day shows up at the court room and predictably foils disney guy with a fire extinguisher really?disney guy planned to kill M for about 11years and he is foiled by a fire extinguisher okay,then bond had an idea which is to hurl M's ass at disney guy then hop out of the shadows with a gun to kill disney guy and he selected the best place for that an oooooold haunted house with no weapons,no advantage but an obnoxious old english dude who was supposed to take over narration from Q about why bond is tormented by skyfall the name of his late parents ranch in scotland really? So bond apparently is a rich orphan who fights crime with a secret identity isn't that batman?and what does skyfall have to do with bond walking out on the psychologist(sam mendes would have an answer to that) back at scotland even though bond is naturally an english .then he begins setting traps round the house like a 7 year old and holds a double barreled hunting rifle ( I felt so embarrassed for roger moore @ this point)then. The bad guys show up like idiots and all of a sudden roger moores car starts shooting bullets at which I shouted what the Bleep! Then M starts playing "home alone" with some commando dudes who were actually armed with assault rifles Any way so disney dude shows up with a chopper and dig this bond opens fire @ the chopper(hoping it will blow the chopper like a freaking missile) and I'm like if this is the idiot M is putting her life on she is so dead. in retaliation, the chopper fires several rounds of bullets @ the house then after that disney guy hops out of the chopper and begins throwing bombs into the house. Of course still expecting M to be alive after all these(he and bond both) then he stares at bond's car and blows it up for no reason Y?(Oh! I forgot he is supposed to be crazy)did the writers run out of story there or something I was so pissed off,anyway this pisses off bond and so bond decides to blow up his father's home so disney dude will think he and M are dead and bond and M and kincade may disappear and save M's life wait a minute, isn't it the same M who ordered u shot in istanbul the same M u called a bitch now you are going out of your way to keep her alive really? i think this bond movie was really good,i watched all my fathers collection of the old bond movies on video and am now 17 and can say the movie is simply awesome,forget about the hype,forget about the brand,just watch the movie,appreciate the dialogue and i think the movie isn't really about bond per say,its about M,they wanted to bring her character to an end and this was the first time,the bad guy brought the fight to m.i6,forget about golden eye,pierce was good but this bond is simply ruthless,he has a lot of issues and for the first time we actually get to see another side of bond,he had family,his real name is actually james biond,i used to think th name was a moniker after watching the bourne movies,the film has a slow pace but it makes up for that with its dialogue and it cuts right to the chase plus for the first time there was no bond girl and you have to admire the villain,bardem portrayed silva perfectly,you have to admire this line: Do you see what comes of all this running around, Mr. Bond? This isn't the first time a villain is taking his fight to M or MI6 if you can remember the world is not enough the villain also took their fight to MI6 so its no big deal.the bond I've always known from the novels, movies and even video games is french/english and grew up poor even had to study law @ oxford courtesy of some ones charity becos he was an orphan but skyfall however makes us believe that bond is actually a rich kid with a mansion in scotland and an alfred like games keeper who tells us that bond is an orphan WE KNOW THAT ALREADY bonds parents were mysteriously killed in a climbing accident why it happened when it happened what were bonds parents like were not answered or focused on so why did they bother taking us to his roots in the first place?now making the story about M is not a bad idea after all the world is not enough. Was about her but the story from skyfall is so lame, so cheap and so shallow no twists no thrills nothing I mean who gives a shiiit if a character that has been changed over 5 times dies I don't care so apparently the M storyline was not worth it and they make her out to be some sort of action hero with a gun and exploding bulbs c'mon since tomorrow never dies MI6 has been showing their politics but then they were even more interesting than skyfall's boring transition and public hearing.the villain hands down was an idiiot. He was supposed to be like joker while bond is batman of course we never even noticed what they were trying to do cause all he did was fail and humiliate himself from the beginning till the end.and there was a bond girl though she died like 10seconds later and looks like she was basically forced into the story by the writers but she was there.let's face it bond is an action movie but in skyfall the action scenes were not there or they were sampled from other movies or they were not energetic enough and they should go in the direction of dialogue over action cause it can never be as intelligent as it was in the roger moore,connery era,I don't even need to go into how lame the story was,or how the plot had so many holes or how boring the movie was or how the director was desperately trying to take us back to the older bond days. Seriously dawg that movie is so stoopid but its cool meeting u fellow bond fan

@kobosmart_wat u did was a surgical criticism of d movie and no movie will survive it. Skyfall is classic abeg and most importantly, got pple interested in 007 again.

TERRIFIC! I'm so glad u hate the old bond movies that's why I hate skyfall cos they strayed away from this new cold baastard like bond and made him look like a roger moore james bond. If u think I'm wrong then watch octopussy and skyfall back to back. U wud see what I'm talking about and as for the new Q one word describes him ew! And skyfall didn't "revive" the james bond franchise, casino royale did remember?

thanks for the compliment I intend to go professional one day lol but guy stop kidding urself skyfall is a very lame movie when u're talking classic we mean casino royale, you only live twice,the spy who loved me or even on her majestys secret service NOT skyfall abeg don't insult the word classic
