Abeg make I join my own put. Thunder Balogun scored 135 goals in a calendar year. grin grin

Also, Sashi Kapoor, the top striker of the Indian team that beat Nigeria 99-1 scored 199 goals in a year. He scored 100 goals in their 120-15 demolition of Zambia in 1972. Chitalu scored 14 goals in that game. grin grin grin

Jarus: I have scored 120 goals in Ajah emirate field this year already, and I will stil score tomorrow morning ISA . I scored an average of 3 goals every weekend(Saturday and Sunday. I'm a deadly striker/winger (9,7 or 11)
And it came to pass. Did my thing as usual. Hit a brace this morning.

Africa is their own greatest enemy. I would rather start my question from, why have CAF not recognize chitalu's goal and celebrate ours. That way FIFA will have no problem tracking proofs of Continental football associations. We need to start celebrating our own. The media has a lot of role to play here as well as the Institutions involved. We do not keep records in Africa because we are so selfish and think about direct benefits alone.
Mtchew.

DinhoMVP: All i'll say is that let chitalu's goals be verified with clips showing every single evidence but if the zambian FA can't provide these clips then messi's record stands @least henceforth we'll learn to properly store records.

It must not necesarily be video clips, its paper documentation is enough, cos if u say clips, what clips is there 2 proove dat futbol started frm England or dat it was originaly played by d Greeks?

solomonkane: Smart decision by FIFA. An attempt either way would have been misconstrued and given all sorts of connotations. Shame on the disgraceful people in the Zambian F.A who had to wait until Messi's achievements became celebrated before remembering Chitalu, they should bow their heads in shame.

na wetin dey my mind be dat o

They said Messi broke a certain Muller's record. Before we knew it the Zambian authority said they have a player who scored 107 goals in a calendar year. Then Brazil said Zico scored 89.

My own analysis is that this so called calendar year scoring record was not so important before now, but the Barca team and followers are obsessed with inconsequential records just to prove they have achieved the best ever. What our generation is used to is number of goals scored in a season, and most importantly, the trophies won.

It is ironic that the three players who are contesting for this scoring record in a calendar year haven't a world cup to show. It also looks like Messi has not won any trophy this year, or am I mistaking? Messi is great, but they shouldn't bring forth inconsequential records to try to prove he is a great player. I still want to believe he is far behind Pele, if the Argentines have started rating him ahead of Maradonna, I don't know. Pele won three world cups out of four he played for Brazil, he only lost the one he got injured during the tournament. Pele also has league records to back his world cup outstanding records.

Na wa o...see beefing...for ur 411...messi also holds d record for most goals in a season...also broken dis year...muller's record aint inconsequential...only messi has ever done it...he broke pele's record before breaking muller's record...who says u must win world cup to be great? Djokaef of france has won world cup...is he better dan messi? Plus messi has won d copa del ray dis year...and loads of trophies last season...spanish super cup..european super cup...world club cup...etc...no beefing...hez simply d best ever!

Africa. Why is it dat only d best come 4rm Africa? Zidane 4rm algeria, pele 4rm mozambique, cr7 4rm togo, ronaldinho 4rm morocco, iniesta 4rm chad, michael jackson 4rm cameroon, usher 4rm ghana, akon 4rm senegal, wil smith 4rm benin, r kelly 4rm ogun, obama 4rm kenya, messi 4rm imo state, rafael nada 4rm south africa, lil wayne 4rm ivory coast.etc. Funny enough Africa don't claim dis persons until they bcom world best.

So FIFA chose to be mute over this, yet it's a crime. If FIFA recognized Messi as the record holder, they'r fvckin racists. Ok, what exactly should FIFA do?! Pple tho...Smh
