Along with blogging, I have found Twitter to be a fantastic
way to grow my audience, get traffic to my blog and sell
books and courses online. But regardless of the social
network you want to use, there is one sure way to use it
effectively without wasting time.

*FOCUS* on one social network and use it to specifically
promote your brand and direct people to your online hub.

You can choose Facebook, Goodreads, Twitter, YouTube,
Pinterest or any other social network, but you need to focus
or you will become overwhelmed by it all.

In this video, I specifically explain how authors and writers
can use twitter to promote themselves and sell books
=>

The tips apply to any social network:

* Focus on your niche and your brand.

I only tweet about writing, publishing and book marketing. I
don't go off topic as people won't stay interested.

* Be useful.

Provide interesting and useful information and
people will share your content. Remember to use great catchy
headlines as well since this makes a big difference to how
people share. 80% of the time I tweet other people's blog posts
and links, and only 20% I link to my own. People trust that
and will retweet and share the information.

* Interact and create relationships.

Don't be a spammer or a broadcaster. Interact on the network
and become a part of the community. Most of my podcasts have
come from people I met on twitter first and then connected
with on the phone.

This is why I say you need to focus, otherwise you won't be
able to do these things effectively without spreading yourself
too thin and becoming disheartened.
