Ever thought about the origin of the most popular slangs that are almost universaly used in naija? My top 2 picks are 1.Warri Its a known fact that the top trash talking n rib cracking stand-up,sit down or even lie up comedians/comics alike in the nigerian entertainment industry are from this place.considering the size(land mass n population) of this city, this no-mean statistics speak volumes in more ways than one.anywhere u meet a warri person, weda man, woman, child, old papa, old mama, even amaphrodite seff u wud notice that they can't be ignored wen dey open dier mouth to say smtin. It runs in the land and on the sand that all smallie licks wen dey play as kids. 2.Lagos This is my second pick because it is the capital of entertainment in the country, and also the centre of modern day yoruba civilisation and yes they have their "slangy" impact on naija.also outside the yoruba speaking areas,(e.g the north n east)you can surely wit eyes well n wide open identify a yoruba chic or guy due to their classy way of doin tingz(most of dem fake die) or better yet, they must speak yoruba n add swagg to it.lolz. So wat are your takes, drop your top picks with reasons like I did,or better still vote either 1.Warri or 2.Lagos. |
