PoliticsRe: Top 10 Countries With Access To Electricity In Africa( 1999 Versus 2023) by 1144AK(m): 8:10pm On Mar 13
Racoon:
Nothing Buhari and APC have not destroyed in our national life. For the acclaimed giant of Africa, it is only retrogression, backwardness and under development while politics continues to be the order of the day. Meanwhile, even the devil has supporters.
So what's wrong with the attached image ? Isn't it a smart move, sth that should be implemented throughout the country ? Besides electricity generation has now been decentralized...

Thank the Jagaban, Tinubu
(A forward thinking and progressive leader).

PoliticsRe: Bwala: Friends Worldwide Call To Express Pity For Nigeria — Moghalu by 1144AK(m):
This is going to trend because of the bitter people who lost the elections. Nigerians still don't understand the man, Tinubu. Until they lose him, their eyes won't be open.

There is nothing wrong with a man changing his belief upon new evidence or facts. Some of the terrorist elements causing insecurity in the country have been caught within Tinubu's tenure, and he is even pushing for state policing. We are lucky to have such an intelligent leader in Tinubu, but Nigeria won't see it. "We go sha dey show una."

You are unable to differentiate the difference between the school saying that they did not issue a particular certificate from graduating from the school.
The school never said that he did not graduate from the school. They said that they did not issue that certificate that he presented to INEC.
In the US, certificate is mostly ceremonial and can be sourced from other avenues as long as you graduated from the said school. What you cannot get from another source is your school transcripts. He apparently lost his previous certificate in a fire. I can't even find mine and I graduated many years after Tinubu from a US university. I still have my transcript.
The school actually said in open court that Tinubu not only graduated but that he graduated top of his class.
Go and read the court transcripts.
On the drug charge, I'm actually feeling generous today.
I will dash you 1000 dollars today today, if you can find and post on NL, any document from the US stating that Tinubu was charged with any drug crime.
Pls show us documents showing when and where he was charged and the court conviction.
I dare you to show any document showing these facts from the US govt.
You might be able to bamboozled your fellow moomoos on Radio Biafra but you can do that here and not get challenged with such outright lies.
Don't mind them, Sir. "Men don shaleye this same thing tire." They are hypocrites who accuse others of something they are very much guilty of; it's their trademark lol. grin cheesy

If answers cannot be provided...what is the next step? With this exposure ...why are some calling for thee Finance Minister to resign? ...why cot charged? And we wonder where is the EFCC in all of this daylight robbery. Where is the money? ...if it wasn't disbursed then where is it? Despite all this blatant looting .... so many are willing to vote Tinubu and the APC back into office to continue looting and oppressing. Something is wrong mentally with wayyyy too many Nigerians
At that hearing, Uzoka-Anite confirmed that ₦1.15 trillion was indeed approved for capital projects. However, she revealed that disbursement protocols require multiple sign-offs, and that certain "pre-disbursement conditions" had not been met by "some" ministries.
"Some" should be "None" since the minister, upon further questioning, couldn't name any single ministry that fulfilled all the conditions for the disbursement.

Relax. It's good these questions are asked; clarity will show on Thursday. Tinubu is Mr. transparency. Just know that Nigeria hasn't gotten this good in a long time.

Nigeria definitely needs conversations and interrogations like these to improve as a nation, something that Tinubu also loves. So stop trying to paint APC wrong.

What is done by the Ministry of Finance is due diligence and standard. I just hope that Alex isn't doing eye service; time will tell.

Dogalmighty17:
In simple terms, what the honourable member is trying to point out is that all the loans this government has been collecting from foreign financial institutions, have been embezzled.
There is no record that any of these monies were channeled to the purposes the Tinubu government claimed they were for. The minister of finance cannot provide answers to what the money was used for because he'll end up implicating the president.

You remove subsidy, liberalise the foreign exchange market and borrow billions of dollars and yet you can only give the federal ministry of health 38 million naira out of the 236 billion it requested for in the budget. A budget you took to the national assembly and presented.
Stop lieing
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi's Supporter Condemns South South ADC For Endorsing Amaechi by 1144AK(m):
Sincerely, the South East should be ashamed of itself. There are hardly any visionary leaders from the region. The South South is positioning itself well for 2031 while 'Obidients' continue to wail and blame others. I don't understand why they allow tribalism to blind them; rather than holding their own leaders and elders accountable, they blame Asiwaju for all their problems.

Asiwaju is far ahead of Obi intellectually, politically, and even strategically. It is a bunch of dimwits who claim to be exposed and educated—how do you put Obi forward as your best shot and expect to win? They are never wise. Obi couldn't resolve conflicts in his previous parties, so how does he think he can manage Nigeria with all her problems and complexities? Nigeria is on a great trajectory before our very eyes; Asiwaju is making great/v. bold reforms. Sincerely, I wish we would have politicians even better than Asiwaju in 2031—a leader who won't take us back to the mess Nigeria has always been in.

garykoeman:
Where did they mention Nigeria. At least read and understand your post before commenting.

Everything is not about politics.
Exactly. Based on the latest reports, Nigeria is a lower-middle-income country, not a low-income one. We are not among the roughly 50% of low-income countries currently facing or approaching debt distress. Though we are still at risk, if not for the recent reforms, we most likely would have been in distress by now.

Furthermore, the IMF has projected that Nigeria's debt-to-GDP ratio will decline even further to 35% in 2026. I did not study economics as an undergraduate, but these things are common sense and in the news.

After borrowing for reckless looting, engaging in budgets padding and living in outrageous opulence

Your government have now mortgaged Nigeria into more chronic irredeemable indebtedness by worsening the debt burden. Remember debt servicing is not debt payment
Stop preaching doom, Oga. Nigeria is moving past its debt distress. Yes, there is a clear need for fiscal discipline - thankfully the government is working to raise domestic revenue while reducing reliance on foreign debt. Nigeria is on a positive trajectory; our debt-to-GDP ratio has seen a significant adjustment, and the focus is now on sustainable growth.
PoliticsRe: Epstein, Ehud Barak Exploit Nigeria Insurgency To Push Surveillance, Oil Deals by 1144AK(m): 2:30pm On Feb 20
It is in the interest of the West and Arab nations to keep Nigeria and Africa fragmented. Religion, ethnic hatred, and a lack of critical thinking are the primary reasons why Nigeria lacks progress. Until people's eyes are opened to this, advanced economies will continue to exploit our opportunities and resources.

Nollywood won't make movies out of news stories like these; instead, it continues to brainwash people with themes like 'blood money' and rituals. From this, you can clearly see how powerful people make money off chaos/problems, while those who believe in superstition become obvious pawns in the game.

If you choose to remain ignorant, you only enrich foreign masters while they exploit/kpai our neighbors.

I can tell you that you don't live happier than citizens of this particular Country do.
Just because the western media can't penetrate the Country and control her economy to the Western world benefit, everything about North Korea is reported to be evil.
Ask yourself why everyone in North Korea is not dead by now with all the negative reports the Western media keep feeding people with.
That's not a logically sound reason to assume everyone in North Korea is suffering equally or is on the brink of death.

The reality is far more complex. Citizens are treated differently depending on their loyalty and position within the government; those loyal to the regime or in positions of power enjoy a better quality of life compared to those punished for their parents' 'sins.'

Besides , in times of trouble, North Korea receives crucial support from China and Russia.

Potential exists, but Nigeria’s poverty is a choice of extraction over production. True wealth is found in adding value, not just digging resources out of the ground. This isn't news or new!

"Serious Nigerians" must stop pointing fingers and start building human capital. If we had no excuses, our only path would be mastery of skills and manufacturing.

This shift requires electing competence at every level, from councilors to governors. We must move from a mindset of "collecting" to a culture of "creating" and solving. The gap between potential and prosperity is bridged only by our own productivity.

PoliticsRe: Lagos To Enforce Mandatory Waste Sorting At Source, Unlocks Economic Value by 1144AK(m): 10:26am On Feb 06
bitsAndpieces:
Long overdue.

For this to work, Lagos must first invest in building recycling facilities across the state, where recyclable waste can be properly processed. For non-recyclable waste, incinerator–power plants should be constructed. This waste can be safely burned, with the heat converted into steam to power turbines and generate electricity. Nothing should end up in landfills.

Organic waste should be collected separately and delivered to companies that specialize in converting it into compost. This compost can then be sold to farmers at competitive prices, creating value from waste while supporting agriculture.

The state should provide free, colour-coded bins to all households so waste sorting can begin at the source. Waste collectors can be equipped with scanners to check each bin during pickup. Each bin would have a tag linked to a specific household address. If the waste is properly sorted, it is collected. If not, the collector scans the tag, declines the pickup, and a fine is automatically issued to the household for improper disposal. More revenue for Lagos — wink wink.

Different trucks would visit households at scheduled times to collect each category of waste and transport them to the appropriate facilities:

A) Recycling plants
B) Incinerators and power-generation facilities
C) Organic waste composting plants for fertilizer production
D) Specialized facilities for biohazardous waste and chemical waste from labs, hospitals, and industries, ensuring safe and environmentally responsible disposal
It’s wild how long these systems have been standard practice abroad, yet we’re still struggling with implementation here.

"The ideas de", but we always seem to trip at the execution stage. Even Lagos, which is far ahead of other states, still has a long way to go.

Sometimes it feels like we aren't taking progress seriously enough.

Stop the exaggerations. Tinubu is mentally sharp; haven't you seen him giving great speeches?

He might be older, but he was the best among the presidential aspirants. If you have a younger candidate who is better, bring them to the political floor to compete. Stop using Tinubu to vent your frustrations and go make something of your life instead.

At your age, Tinubu was already a high flyer. Sincerely, I am tired of many Nigerians; my concern is for the gullible people they continue to deceive.

If you check Nairaland’s politics section since 2010, it has been complaints upon complaints while others are doing great things for the country. Anyway, I believe some of these comments are paid for by the opposition just to wail and complain.
