STRIKE: ESUT ASUU, management at loggerhead over planned school resumption
DAILY POST
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has dissociated itself from the planned resumption of academic activities at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, tomorrow (Monday).
In a statement signed by the Chairman of ASUU, ESUT chapter, Prof. Agu Gab Agu and others, the union said its attention had been drawn to the announcement by ESUT management that students were resuming academic activities on Monday November 18, 2013.
“The academic staff of ESUT dissociates itself from the above announcement”, the union stated.
It added that “while ASUU-ESUT mourns the demise of Professor Festus Iyayi, a former President of ASUU, it awaits the direction of the NEC on the ongoing strike”.
Prof. Agu described the demise of Iyayi as a big loss to ASUU, saying his death was a big loss to the union, the academia and the country in general.
The ASUU-ESUT boss prayed that God should grant the family of the late ASUU President the fortitude to bear the loss.
Meanwhile, a condolence register has been opened for the late Professor Iyayi at the ASUU Secretariat in ESUT Agbani campus

don't get the wrong msg from nairalander esp freshers. I did foundation years ago now I'm a finalist. They are still gonna keep admitting till after 2nd module, just try and meet the coordinator soonest at the campus of your choice. Speaking from experience here ooo @farbzy

Don't be fooled! There is only Predegree programme ! No Foundation again!!

it still doesn't explain why they didn't admit students for foundation last year,...also doesn't explain why it wasn't advertised this year. @mhizsleek, foundation students were last admitted in 2011....and its gon' be like this till further notice.

do you remember dt pre degree programmes was stopped by fed govt then that was why different institutions had to change the name of their programmes. Now, they are back to normal p. d stuff, shey yhu grab? They did p.d @ okuku campus dis year with over 600H students coz ppl kept joining and they needed the money to generate internal income for the sch. That's y I said you have to meet the coordinator of different campus of your choice early to negotiate till before 2nd module. They will keep admitting coz the money wey dem go collect no be beans, moreover you sabi naija now, the coordinator too go chop and get pikin for hauz na.
