I guess the Op meant most controversial, otherwise being in the news for dating Iyanya and insulting your fans on twitter is no entertainment.

Top entertainers of 2012.

1. Psqure: performed in thhe largest gathering of people in Africa in 2012 (Ghana). Did hit songs with top international acts like Rozzay, Akon. Released one of the hotest music videos (Alingo) same year.

2. Davido: Ruled the local circle with stage perfomances, private and public shows.

3. Dbanj: Loads of performances in and around the country with Oliver twist hitting British airwaves.

4. Wizkid: Toured USA and other countries.

5.Flavour, Olamide, Burna boy, Iceprince: These dudes made sure they closed the gap in entertainment where the aforementioned left.

Most controvercial

1. Tonto Dikeh

2. Davido

3. Jude Okoye/Mayd

4. Cossy Orjiakor

5. The producer that beat and divorced his wife.

Abujafood:
These are the top 5 Nigerian Celebrities for 2012 based on the impact they made on the Nigerian Entertainment scene and relative to other artistes in Nigeria through out the year 2012.

Dbanj

This year was a good year for D’banj earning himself awards and lots of money as well from shows and events all over the world. This year was also the year he parted ways with Mo’hits record and his friend and business partner Don Jazzy. His Hit Single Oliver twist was the most popular Nigerian Hit of 2012.

Tonto Dike

Although not a successful Musician Tonto Dike made history by producing a sub par hit single. “Hi” from her album it’s ova made her even more popular than she ever was earning her a lot of invites as special guest to events across Nigeria. Tonto also made a few other controversial stunts like displaying her back tattoos and claiming to have lost her virginity to Don jazzy and a few other controversial albeit maverick stunts in 2012.

P-square

The Okoye twins lost their mother this year, a low point for the brothers but as usual recorded a successful studio album release. They had several massive hit singles featuring Rick Ross and Akon plus several top class international invites to perform at shows.

Burna Boy

Here is an example of how a hit wonder can transform a relatively unknown music act into a superstar almost over night. Burna Boy is now a household name charging mouth watery fees to perform at shows across Nigeria. No one saw him coming but today he’s well known.

Wizkid

EME’s Ayo Balogun aka Wizkid is the best example of raw talent getting better and better. In 2012 working with Tiwa Savage, Davido and numerous other artistes Wizkid is today one of Nigeria’s highest earning performers as he’s highly sought after to perform at events. The year 2012 turned out to be a very rewarding year for Wizkid making him the 2nd most influential Nigerian artist on Twitter a position that reflects his growing popularity.

1. P-Square- Their tours around Africa were sold out. They had three hits, Chop My Money, Beautiful Onyinye ft. Rick Ross and Alingo. Their song, Alingo, is the first African song to garner a million views on Youtube under a month. They signed a distribution deal with Universal and a partnership with Konvict.

2. D'banj- Was signed on to GOOD music, his song 'Oliver Twist' was a smash hit and even played at the Olympics. He signed on to SONY Africa...though the last quarter of the year hasn't been nice to the Koko master, and the Koko concert has left a sour taste in the mouth of the populace after a dismal performance. All round, a good year for the Koko master, especially as Oliver Twist has the highest Youtube views from an African artiste on Youtube.

3. Davido- His songs Dami Duro, Ekuro and All of You, are arguably, some of the biggest hits of 2012. He was also controversial with his many beat downs, the whole Sonia Jumbo twitter saga, and of course, his alleged abuse of his girlfriend, put O.B.O on the list of most controversial acts of 2012. He ended the year on a highnote by winning the KORA award for Best Newcomer in 2012.

4. Iyanya- The Kukere Master started the note on a high and ended on another high. Kukere received wide acceptance from the audio to the video. It was something of an anthem in Nigeria, the follow up, Your Waist, though a bit controversial, especially as rumours were rith his dating and subsequent dumping of Yvonne Nelson, upped his game. Both songs have pushed Iyanya from a D-list to a comfortable B-list artiste.

5. Uti Nwachukwu- Since winning BBA All Stars, this dude's celebrity status has skyrocketed. With many red carpet appearances and countless gigs where he M.C's, it's safe to say the hearthrob has conquered the entertainment industry. The controversial news that he was gay, sometime in the middle of the year, put him on the not-so-enviable list of controversial entertainers. But Uti sails through and waxes strong especially with his acting roles and as one of the presenters of the Africa Magic show 'Jara'

Typical nigerians blinded by tribalism......imagine someone placing Uti Nwachukwu ahead of Wizkid or Banky W just because they are not Ibo. Even Dbanj should be ahead of PSquare based on his international success and his video garnering d most you tube hits along with multiple international and local awards. SMH...some things will neva change when people think along tribal grounds

If you can't see past the fact that these people aren't from your tribe (by your post anyone can deduce where you're from) and all you can see is their tribe before Nationality, then you're even more of a tribalist than that 'someone' that placed Uti above Wizkid.

Tell me why Wiz should be above, what is a list of best 'entertainers' if only musicians make the list? Or is it until someone is on MTV and the many music channels that he should be called an entertainer?

Davido was on that list, was he not? Is he Ibo?

After D'banj's flop of a show, and his not-so-impressive songs, he doesn't deserve to be top, why should the success of a 2011 song catapult him to the top position when even Bracket had more 2012 hits?

If you can't list why Wiz and Banky should be above Uti, then shut your silly, tribalistic pie-hole and grow some balls to name names when you make a comment...bytch-asss wanka
