6:45AM | BY OUR REPORTER A 48-year old-man, Akintunde
Adeniji, was on Friday arraigned
before an Ibadan Chief
Magistrates’ Court for allegedly
forging a Canadian visa and
obtaining money under false pretence. The police prosecutor, Inspector
O. Amos told the court that the
accused and one Folagbade Adeniji
now at large committed the
offence on October 11, 2012 at
about 3:00 p.m at Ode-Ona Elewe area of Ibadan. He said the accused collected N1.7
million from one Oyekanmi
Olusola and three others under
the pretence of procuring
Canadian visas for them. The
prosecutor also alleged that the accused forged a Canadian visa
and thereby contravened Section
419 of the Criminal Code, Cap 38,
Vol II Laws of Oyo State, 2000. The accused, however, pleaded
not guilty to the three-count
charge against him. Chief Magistrate Fatima
Badrudeen admitted the accused
to bail in the sum of N1 million
and two sureties in like sum. She
said one of the sureties must
have landed property within the magisterial district while the
other must produce evidence of
employment and three years tax
