Guess its high tym i commented ....lol... I'm an aspirant for pharm bt i intend on changing to ui after jamb. Ehrm.....concerning d marking,i dunno ow dey mark oda subjects bt it is stated in the syllabus how dey mark english and english is 150 marks. |

Jamb does nt use negative marking, only dat most candidate thought dat d first question(paper type) in each subjects carry 2 marks each, jamb is nt dat nice 2 give away 8 marks free out of 400 marks, morover does questions do nt carry equal marks, for example if jamb do not state it in d syllabus dat english sum up to 150 marks, majority will think each question in english carry 1 mark each, u know english questions are always in a fix format,so d format can be given out, but 4 other subjects, it is nt easy 2 give out d format so u cant really tell dere marking format,but whatever format dey are using it will favour us in jesus name.amen. shakur07: D@ wu make me ask sef..shey jamb dey do negative marking nih ...i thought na 2 marks each for all sub xcept eng ..ao cum sum marks are in odd number because for ma chem last yr na 67 dem give |

FG reassures on UTME, NECO LAGOS — INDICATIONS emerged, yesterday, thatthe Federal Government may have soft-pedaled on the scrapping of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, examination, UTME; and the National Examinations Council, NECO, as recommended by the Mr. Steve Oransoye-led committee, which had generated mixed reactions. This came as apprehension gripped over2,000 workers of JAMB, who may lose their jobs ifthe recommendations by the committee on the restructuring of the Federal Government agencies and parastatals are implemented. In Ado Ekiti, yesterday, Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to President GoodluckJonathan on Youth and Student Matters, Jude Imagwe, said Federal Government was not considering scrapping UTME and NECO. The SSA, who spoke at Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, during a workshop on teaching/learning method, said the bodies were set up by laws for specific purposes. Imagwe noted that the recommendations of the Oronsanye committee may not be unconnected with the fact that a lot of government agencies were performing similar roles and functions, saying “at the end of theday, we will keep our own.NECO will be strengthened.” Meanwhile, organised labour in JAMB, Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU, and Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, have vowed to challenge the report in court should the Federal Government implement it. In an address by Mr. Samuel Azaba and Mr. Isaiah Adeigbe, branch Chairmen of NASU and ASCSN, respectively, and Mr. Stephen Ignatius, NASU Secretary and his counterpart from ASCSN, Mr. Adederin Adegoke, the unions said instead of scrapping the institutions, government should establish more to accommodate the about 1.7million students seeking admission in about 400 institutions in the country. |
