A Very Nice Piece Mistress...!
quivah: 53 men,53 years..

The streets can be hectic man, I've lost a friend to a bullet/
Who is to be blamed, Gun makers, bad security or the next man to pull it/
If guns are banned then there is no guarantee that its bankin a life /
Cause in naija the men get shanked with a knife/
When i deal with my scripturte i'm nerved by christ/
ANd If i'm facing death at the cool time, I know i got my right/
But facing those bombs?! Mehn! I rather take the next flight/
Cause my Brothers are behind bars by gov't to put a whole new meaning to serving life/
And what for? Is it so your reputations can stay groomed/
Now u gotta shi.t, shower and shave with politics in the same room/
The streets can be hectic man, We need a final plan/
Its 53rd years, another 53 gunned down by the boko haram/
I'm Not being hell bent on destructing the rival's whole gang/
Because an eye for an eye will leave the whole world blind/
And a tooth for a tooth will leave the whole world mimed/
Im staying focused cause i feel the time is near/
Very soon,i will be in the force and This shits getting crazy based upon my primal fear/
I dont hate a brother asking to forgive his sins/
I just wonder why i should cause i remember the lotta lives you'v killed/
But then i hate the system that the brother lived/
Cause the cry for justice had been seized/

And Only out of love should the people start marching/
To the stadiums, to warn the damm politics/
That I quivah wrote this flow in respect of my country at 53/
Have got my guys and girls(the pol sci n lawyers here) to take the eagle's wings/
And ride this generation to Nigeria,a new country/
So the next and next generations can say, finally its independence! Now,We are totally free/

Happy independence nigeria/
Free from slavery, from the chains hanged in her ears/
To her legs/
From her toes to her head//
Like a clothes that we wear//
Then,
I heard a voice!!!!
What don't kill us,makes us stronger/
And what can't drag us,leaves us taller/
Let he who have ears hear!!.. that my country can't be better/
If the next nigga ain't better/

God bless Nigeria..
A tribute to the 53 souls who lost their lives to the BH.
KuDOs!!!

Today, the 53rd independence anniversary.Between 1960 till date,Nigeria has had 15 Heads of states of government(i'm sure as students,we all know them).
Out of these Heads of Government, 4 died violently in office, one died of undisclosed illness. Some left office in questionable circumstances. One was alleged to have died on top of a sex worker. An analysis of the nation's political journey gives the millitary 29years of millitary power as against the 24 years of the civilian rule. This means 57 percent for millitary rule against 43 percent for civilian rule.
Nigeria spent the sum of N122.9bn to conduct the 2011 general elections. In fact,In June, the FG spent #5,747,694,780 to compensate victims of election violence in Bauchi,Sokoto,Zamfara,Niger,Jigawa,Katsina,Kano,Adamawa and Akwa Ibom after the 2011 presidential election. The country spent less on Education generally and far less for vocational education. We play politics with everything in our country-including education. Rather than allowing education to guide our politics as advised by Plato to John Dewey, we allow politics to guide our education. Therefore, we are slided down the long shameful corridor of instability.
The 2009/2010 Index of Political Instability shows that out of the 165 countries surveyed,Nigeria was at44th position which means only 43 out of 165 countries were less stable than Nigeria, thus putting Nigeria in the category of ''High risk/highly unstable'' countries. In the study, Countries such as Ghana,Benin,Tanzania,Malawi,Mozambique, and Ethiopia were considered to be more politically stable than Nigeria. Similarly, Nigeria is ranked 14th position in the recent 2011 Failed States Index computed for 177 countries. Somalia was first, chad 2nd,Sudan 3rd. On the other hand,Kenya ranked 16th,Uganda 21,Tanzania 65th, Senegal 85th, Ghana 114th....
Hmmm.....Ghana now far above our beloved nation in terms of development and political stability??....where are we going?
Although Nigeria is still recovering from the Niger Delta Insurgency following the Amnesty Deal, Boko haram insurgency in the North has created a higj sense of insecurity throughout the country leading to a state of Emergency in three states, namely: Borno,Yobe and Adamawa. One of the fallouts of the 2011 election is the rising tide of insurgency in the Nothern part of Nigeria. A recent survey revealed that about 2000 lives have been lost. Sometime this year, the president invoked section 305 of the 1999 constitution that states 'The President shall have power to declare a state of emergency if:
a) The federation is at war
b) There is an imminent danger of invasion
c) There is actual breakdown of public order
d) There is a clear and present danger.
E) There is any public danger that constitutes a threat to the existence of the Republic..

The 3 states affected represent 1/12 of the entire nation. Borno state has a population of 4,171,104 which is equal to the population of Lebanon,Palenstine, and Republic of Congo respectively. Adamawa has a population of 3million which is equal to the population of Cyprus and Bahrain put together.
