Apart from crude oil, the only thing Nigeria has successfully exported to other countries is corruption. The Manufacturing sector is dead; most of the sites marked for production in the country which are supposed to be occupied by factories have long been sold out to religious leaders and turned to prayer grounds. Everything- from food to toothpick- are imported from abroad. Over 80 per cent of Nigeria’s income ends up in the hands of one per cent of the population, the people are getting leaner and their Imams and pastors are getting richer. Oh! No wonder, salvation as they preach is for the soul and not for the ailing bodies. So, we can say the ever shrinking bodies of worshippers are in line with the preparation of their soul for the glorious days. Nigerians! Nigerians! Wen una mumu go last reach (This is a revised version of the remarks of Chairman, Editorial Board, Punch Newspapers, Mr. Segun Adediran, during the 1st anniversary of Save Nigeria Group on the ‘Occupy Nigeria protests’ in lagos recently
