Abujafood: Why we no go dey there? Despite being a poor country we are number 10 in the world although I think it's due to population size not necessarily a sign of technological or economic development!

Why didnt u say China and India are on the list because of their population too?

This is due to our large population. If checked in terms of percentage of the population, we wont make the first 10.

While it is good news that our 47,143,356 internet users puts us at No 10 on the list, we should realize there's a lot of work to be done. This number of users still represents only 28.43% of our population. By contrast, the UK, No 9 on the list, has 51,412,657 internet users, which represents 82.00% of their population.

Australia?? No no, even if they have 100 percent internet usage, they still can never be in the first ten, simply because they have a small population. Though population does not necessarily determine who will be in top position, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia are more populated than Nigeria yet they arent in the list. What am trying to say is that although population could be a factor, government policies, private sector investment and social demography of population equally play important roles.
