President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, yesterday condemned the attack on the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, saying the attack was a violent assault on our respected traditional institutions. Senator Mark, who was saddened by renewed violence in Kano and some other states, urged the security agencies to once again rise to the challenge of these gruesome acts by ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to book.

He lamented the incessant incident of gun attacks as well as the activities of the dreaded Boko haram sect who always target innocent individuals in our society and reiterated his call on Nigerians who have information about the hideouts of these nefarious activists to make such available to our security agencies.

Senator Mark however reiterated his call to those behind these dastardly act to sheathe their swords and embrace peace in the interest of the nation. “If their designs and actions are genuine, they should embrace the dialogue option canvassed by every notable Nigerian.

The President of the Senate condoled the families of the driver and guards that lost their lives in the attack to take heart and leave vengance to God and charged the Emir not to relent in his selfless contributions to his immediate subjects, Kano State and the nation in her entirety.
