It was about 6:30 pm yesterday when suddenly d house went up in flames. My gosh we could not save anything, not from my house but from d building dt d fire started from. D fire became so severe dt it took community effort not just to quench it but to prevent it from gutting other buildings in d area.
D fire started when d house wife carelessly tried to light her kerosene stove close 2 a gallon of petrol, ds she have been doing b4 but luck ran out on her when her leg court fire as she was doing dt again. She ran off d scene shouting 4 help. Well d people around rushed 2 help but it was like adding salt 2 injury cos they were trying 2 quench a petrol infested fire with ordinary water, u know what dt means.
However d fire took on a new turn when it rode gingerly on d wings of d ordinary water 2 other areas of d building it won't have easily or quickly reached. B4 d ppl would realise it was almost late but thank goodness we quickly moved for OMO (detergent) mixed with water to form a basic solution dt would really put d fire out. After much effort d fire went down n was almost totally out when d fire found a part through the ordinary water initially used and flowed 2 a section of d house where there was a number of petrol gallons, dt was when all hell broke loose.
Gbam, dt was when all of a sudden d little fire became an inferno. It took everyones effort, d youths, d aged, even children shouting n calling n lifting n fetching n pouring from preventing it talk-less of stopping it b4 it took on d whole houses along dt axis.
Don't ask me about d fire service, we should have thanked God dt they eventually came bt it was story story again when they complained "water has finished" n so they left like they never care. Lord have Mercy.
Thank God, we finished putting out d fire not long ago. It's now so funny n ... some are crying, some r laughing, n me, I don't really know my feeling right now. Will upload pictures n Videos of d scene later 2day.
