5. Here in Mauritius you will never see such, infact that ads is for 3 different developer.

8. The worst is that its a news company that only needs a web admin that can manage their portal

10. lol..... what they will need im sure is just som1 to help manage their web portal and do little of other stuffs but the fact is that they will look up for job description on like for a particular position and start joining everything together..... dont be surprise that if u apply and get their the IT head if they have will not even know jack of all this shit... thats naija system....

11. The IT head is the one who prepared this shit.
He should be brought out for thorough flogging

Its their job, its their money, its their requirements. If you don't fit in, pass along and keep looking for what you can fit into OR study hard to fit in.

IMO, most of the comments above seem to be coming from lazy people (#SocialProgrammers).

They did not say the pay is attractive, besides, if they see anyone who has all those proficiency, I bet the will not be able pay him.

Seem you don't get it.
More like Julius Berger trying to hire an engineer who has a background in civil engineering, electronics, architecture and mechanical engineering all at the same time. It's simply not possible though a well trained engineer can have an idea of all this but can't be a professional in all aspects.
Same things applies in programming, you're a pro in an aspect but have a general idea of the rest.

They don't expect you to do all that in your job specifications. That person who wrote those requirements simply don't have an idea of what he/she is talking about.

1 of 2 things are at play here. Either:
1) They have seen what happened at that company where thousands of people showed up for a job and want people to weed themselves out OR
2) The person who came up with the ad is in Human Resources and heard, "we need a programmer" and not being technical, probably googled and copied/pasted what you see there.

From a naija factor perspective, I would go with #1. From a personal experience perspective, I would go with #2: Back in 2000, I remember a job ad asking for 10 years of experience in ASP 1.0. The problem with the ad was that ASP was barely a year old at the time. Obviously, a technical person wasn't in responsible for creating that ad tongue

Channels is definitely not asking for too much. All they need is a multidimensional array of designer, developer, networking guru and general IT consultant assigned to a single variable. That variable is what(who) they want. I pray they find one
cheesy cheesy cheesy

All that long advert just to get some dude and place him in a tiny cubicle with a computer to post news items and video links. With reporters and editors bringing their laptops to him from time to time, to help them run antivirus software and fix the occasional windows, active-x alerts. grin grin

^^^^^

Its not even about whether possible or not. It seems the people are clueless and dont really understand what they want.

Is their website based on all the above? Are they setting up another business arm to go into web development for clients? Like some have pointed out, someone just wanted to bamboozle intending applicants.

copy and paste requirements, being HR isn't enuff, you need to know what skills you need, i made the statement there, that in Mauritius that's for 2 Developers because having one Developer overseeing such Project is risky, they separate Developers and Database Engineers(if that's correct). the later can be added advantage. check linkedIn for Job descriptions and you will see a saner position.

^^^ But u sabi naija now. we think say we dey smart. We wan hire one 10K "webmaster" to do everything, from design to database to content then we wonder why a majority of the work we produce is sub-par.

From recent events am privy to in other organisations, maybe the Hr or IT manager has a candidate to smuggle in,all the jumbled requirement is to discourage prospective applicants.
