British media has reported that Korean women received the most plastic surgery operation per head of population.



13 cosmetic surgery operations per 1000 people were done in 2011, according to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, which show that one in 77 people had undergone cosmetic surgery procedures.



One in five women aged 19-49 living in cities reported to have gone under the knife.



The double-eyelid surgery which makes eyes bigger and wider by cutting the upper lid, has been reported as the most popular operation among Korean women.


While Korea topped the list in relative terms, the United States ranked at the top when it came to the total number of operations, posting 3.1million cosmetic surgery procedures last year.
