A mobile police sergeant simply identified
through his uniform to be Pius Stephen, with
force number 196824, was on Thursday
evening, killed by a hit and truck driver in
Lagos.

Eyewitnesses told Aproko247 that Stephen
was allegedly riding his motorcycle on the
popular Lagos/Apapa Expressway when the
truck driver hit him around at Sadiku bus stop on the expressway. The truck driver,
thereafter, reportedly fled with his truck.

Stephen was badly injured as an eyewitness
told Aproko247 that his head was smashed on the culvert that divided the expressway.

It took efforts by some military men to pull him to the other side of the expressway as passers-by watched him as he struggled to survive until he finally gave up the ghost.

Men of the Nigerian Police from Ilasamaja
Police Division, as at press time, took his
remains to their station.

A police officer at the scene of the incident, who begged for anonymity, told Aproko247 that late Stephen is a mobile police officer from Mopol 20 in Lagos. He (the police source) said that his body would be deposited at the mortuary while the family of the deceased will contacted.
