Technical Operations Manager Lagos

Job purpose of a Technical Operations Manager is overall responsibility for the technical, budget, schedule administrative, and financial execution of individual projects. He will act independently as the engineer in charge, and also as the manager with responsibility for financial performance on assigned projects.
Job Summary:
1. Present Company qualifications for project opportunities and preparation of proposals.
2. Manage client interface and overall relationship with several clients.
3. Provide technical leadership and expertise in areas of knowledge and experience. - Supervise, direct, and review technical contributions of other engineers on projects and company-wide activities.
4. Carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques
5. Write reports documenting project results.
6. Conduct presentations to clients
7. Support marketing and business development through projects by proactive pursuit of repeat business, preparing and developing technical and cost proposals, as required.
8. Assist in the business development skills of staff members.
9. Manage the overall client relationship, as assigned, to assure satisfaction with EQE service, identify needs, and understand the client’s business.
10. Develop budgets, schedules and profit objectives for assigned projects, within requirements of contracts and subject to the approval of Division management.
11. Assure that invoices are properly prepared in accordance with contractual terms and are issued to clients in a timely manner.
12. Work with Financial Services Group to ensure that payment on outstanding invoices are forthcoming in a timely manner.

13. Act as program and project manager for major technical activities.
14. Provide direction and oversight of Engineers, Lead Engineers, Project Engineers, and Principal Engineers assigned to projects.
15. Assure projects are executed within approved budget and schedule, and in accordance with Company Quality requirements.
16. Act as the primary point of technical contact for clients on assigned projects.
17. Assist in training and mentoring Engineers, Lead Engineers, Project Engineers, and Principal Engineers.
18. Assist Structural Engineers Division Management in the evaluation of employee performance, and in identifying employee training and development needs.


Required Education and Experience:

1.Minimum of 10 years’ post-bachelor’s degree experience.

2.The human relations skills necessary to organize, direct, and motivate senior level professionals and staff. These skills are also necessary to develop strong client relationships at the highest level.

3.Ability to organize, plan, monitor and control project contractual requirements, budgets, schedules and technical work.

4.Ability to utilize basic personal computer applications including spreadsheets, word processors, email, and Internet browsers.

5.Ability to communicate technical aspects of projects and of work assignments to peers, subordinates and clients.

6.Ability to direct the execution of complex engineering projects.

7.Must have at leas 10 years experince in Marine Logistics.
