Rev. King Takes Case To Supreme Court. Insists He Is Innocent. by HyperBase(m): 3:40pm On Feb 19, 2013
The embattled General Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly "Church" Worldwide, His Holiness, The Most Hon.Dr. Rev King has taken his case to the highest Court of the land, the Supreme Court after an appeal Court in Lagos had earlier this month upheld the death sentence slammed on him by a Lagos High Court.

Rev. King has in his petition to the supreme court outlined the lack of substantial credible evidence by the prosecution against him, accusing both the Lagos High Court and the Court of Appeal Lagos of conspiracy to deny him justice.

According to King, there were incredible lapses in the trial process at the high court, which the appeal court has also overlooked in it's judgement. He decried the manner in which the testimony of the deceased Ann Uzuh in which she clearly stated that "Rev. King was nowhere at the scene of the fire incident that caused her death" was discarded by the Lagos high court, lamenting that if such a credible evidence could be allowed to end up in the trash-can, then there is a serious conspiracy somewhere.

You could recall that King's lawyers during the high court trial, had exhumed a written statement by the deceased Ann Uzuh, taken by the Police but buried in an attempt, as Rev. King would put it, to deny him of justice. Unbelievably, the evidence was discarded by Justice Olubunmi Oyewole of the Lagos High Court even after the Police had confirmed to the court that the statement was actually Ann's before her mysterious death at the hospital where where was already recovering from the burns "coincidentally" on the day that the Magistrate Court was to grant Rev King bail on his attempted murder charge.

The public undoubtedly are watching with keen interest the outcome of the matter when it will finally be heard by the supreme court. We are watching.
