On 20th of the month, BZM announced provisional appointments in which it named prominent Igbos like Ihejirika, Okonjo-Iweala, Pius Anyim, Diezani Madueke as cabinet members of its new government. In the announcement the offer was good for a week in which they were either to accept or turn it down. That timeline expired 27th. There has not been any declaration from BZM or update on this topic. BZM also issued an ultimatum to the Nigerian Armed Forces in which it demanded that two weeks from the 20th of February all non-Igbo personnell of the military located and serving in Igbo territory were to vacate the land before or on the expiration of the ultimatum. That date is coming up on March 6th. This is a status update only. |
