IGBO Traders In Lagos Paraded by State Agents.
by Josh Okeke.
.
"The men being forced to lie on dirty grounds by combined team of armed military and police personnel on traders at the Ladipo Market, Lagos, which was recently shut down by the Lagos State Government purportedly over issues with ‘environmental sanitation’ – and we all know where they hail from. Why treat them as mere criminals – for goodnes sake, these are men whose wares have been seized/ locked up and they are now being paraded as mere criminals! Anybody familiar with the Lagos terrain knows quite well that the reasons’ being advanced by the Government is hogwash! If you want to see ‘environmentally unsafe’ markets in Lagos, visit Mushin, Oyingbo, Oshodi, Barriga, Yaba and some other markets which for obvious reasons they are treated and seen by Lagos Government as ‘no-go areas’ for ‘closures’". nice one...that will be a good lesson for others...its high time we start threating our environment with respect ....what people refuse to understand is that for our society to be as neat as other developed countries, it will require the joint effort of all. Eko oni Baje

And I ask, why are these Igbo traders so sheepish that even with all sort of inhuman treatments directed at them, they still remain in Lagos & other hostile states. Does it mean the combine states in the east & south-south can not give you traders the market these anti-Igbo states are giving you so to say?! Why are you spending your money developing those places yet you get treated like less humans?! Who will develop your states for you? For the avoidance of doubt, I'm a confirmed Nwa-afo Igbo!! I ask again, don't we drive cars here in the east, even the most expensive ones, to need spare parts?, those of you selling cloths, do you people think we cover ourselves with leaves here? If you are talking about the proximity of sea ports, if you don't patronise Port Harcourt and or develop your own Ugwuta lake, who will?!! It's high time we let these people know we got a place too & an Identity we are PROUD of!

LONG LIVE THE GREAT IGBO NATION !!!

The major thing bring people to Lagos Is only functioning seaport. To consider builting one in the eastern is not easy, as lot of resources, finances is required.
An out myopic eastern governor are more concern with dressing facilities that would say they are "working"- road and schools.

Nothing less was expected from inherent loudmouthed pig such as you. A trader in a legally constituted market square becomes criminal because idiotic government failed to uphold its commitment on environmental issues. In farmers market or any open market in developing countries, the local government is responsible for the environmental matters.

They should be taken to court sharp sharp and full weight of the law dropped on them. We have enough space in kirikiri for criminals.
