Beware Of Fake Nscdc Recruitment Sites by nyabingi(m): 4:53pm On Mar 03, 2013
Hi guys, I was flipping through the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps when i found this press release:

Recently there have been reports on employment racketeering in the Corps. Worried by this allegation, the anti-graft section of the Corps intensified more efforts in unveiling those behind the shady business. However, it was discovered that, it is an attempt by mischief makers to dent the image of the Corps as they have done it successfully to other agencies without been challenged. Due to the fact that the Corps as one of its policy thrust is to ensure transparency, credibility, equity, justice and fairness in all her exercise especially by involving other security agencies such as EFCC, ICPC, Police Armed Forces, NGO, Transparency and Monitoring organization amongst others to monitor her recruitment process in line with the Federal Character Principle.

It is on the basis of these that the Corps decided to partner and work hand-in-hand with the EFCC and ICPC to clamp down on fraudsters who are internet scammers and impersonators defrauding applicants of their hard earned money.

The Corps dragnet in tracking down fraudsters using her name to defraud applicants however yielded positive result as luck ran out of a three (3) man syndicate who impersonated the Commandant General’s aides claiming to be staff of the Corps.

The gang comprises of one Mr. Wilfred Ahatuamen who is the principal suspect and claimed to be an aide to the Commandant General with one Miss Grace Benedict, his girl friend who also claimed to be the Commandant General’s Secretary alongside Ikechukwu John who is one of the accomplices.

The said group collected the sum of N280,000.00 from one Mr. Bojor Bobori under false pretense that they were going to offer him job into the Corps and he is to pay the balance of N20,000.00 when the appointment letter is issued to him.

The corps wishes to express that the said persons have been interrogated and will be handed over to the EFCC for further interrogation and prosecution in order to demonstrate transparency and sincerity to those with contrary views, misconceptions and misguided opinions, who have at one time or the other written against the Corps
credibility with a view to denting her image, that the Corps’ integrity is intact and thus it cannot be traded for any paltry sum in the name of employment.

Also to prove to government and the entire citizenry that the Corps has never and will never be involved in shady deals, the Corps had earlier arrested over 560 suspects out of which 135 suspects have been successfully prosecuted. Therefore these suspects recently arrested marked another breakthrough in the cases of impersonation where the fraudsters paraded themselves as members of the Corps and most especially claiming to be aides to the Commandant General. Meanwhile, they have no relationship whatsoever with the Corps talk less of been aides to the Corps Boss.

It is worthy of note that the handing over of the suspects to sister agencies such as EFCC and ICPC is to assure Nigerians of the Corps incorruptible stance and to prove that if other agencies can assist in prosecuting them, it will prove the Corps sincerity in handling the issue of employment scam within the system.

Several public enlightenment program on Radio, Television and Newspapers have been carried on the Corps recruitment process, yet desperate job seekers still fall prey to the activities of scammers, by this efforts, applicants should note and face reality that the Corps is not in any way recruiting, so, buying of form, applying for recruitment on-line, paying of money to anybody amongst others is completely a waste of scarce resources and it is uncalled for.

The Corps is therefore using this medium to appeal to all patriotic citizens to assist in arresting everyone who specializes in duping fellow Nigerian because of their predicaments in the labour market.

Also, these amongst others are the websites designed for
the purpose of this nefarious act –
www.nscdc.wapka.mobi, www.federaljob.com
www.ministryofinteriorrecruitment.com;
prince omotosho among others.

So far 20 persons connected to internet fraud have been arrested and prosecuted.

Applicants and the general public should take note as the Corps will not take it lightly with anyone caught denting her image and shall not be responsible to those who refuse to yield to the warnings and fall prey to the act and cry foul thereafter.
