Here,once a Cup stood Filled to the Brim Alas,too full to drink Dry Thoughts and dry Smiles Wet lips at the thought of wet Throats But alas,too full to drink Split on the Rocks Empty now,but not quite dry Silvery Trickles;wisps,swirl inside Tantalus,Memories of a Time When a Cup stood,but Too full to drink Empty now,but not quite dry Dry Thoughts and dry Smiles Waiting...Praying... Senryu is also a Japanese styled poem, similar to haiku in structure, however, senryû tend to be about human foibles while haiku tend to be about nature, and senryû are often cynical or darkly humorous and satiric while haiku are serious..
