Wow; nice!! Can you imagine, when i asked one of my friends what a ladder is called in his language, he told me he dint know sincerely. I was like; this is how culture diminish..what if your child ask you about this tomorrow, would you boldly say you dont know...I would be posting those types of pictures so we remind and learn from ourselves..cheers

What about this?yeah..though no more used in this century. We can still recall, that is if you were born in my generation, intresting isnt it?..We call it;ummutula, unale, ujachi in my language.

It's called "Lanta" in yoruba, this not atupa. The atupa is a local made.

boss, the locally made atupa is called "fitila". -refering to d one made of clay dat uses palm oil n cotton wool

its not cotton wool bros. Its locally made wick. Made from residues of palm oil processing: its called ogusho!!!

you may be right about that as in my own area/village back then (late 80s/early 90s) we use cotton wool, so i cant say if others use "oguso", but am pretty sure wool is commonly used.
