A step towards the direction of education has been made by News Corps. Although full specifications are not yet out the company is launching a tablet under the android platform that will open up new, affordable experiences for learning in schools.

The tablet is made specifically for the education market which was branded back in July to Amplify. The 10-inch Android tablet will run custom software. The uniqueness of this brand is its simplification educational activities when students have to log in and have access to a lot of apps while in the class rooms also with notebooks on the right hand side which allow quick access to different subjects.

Teachers are able to add materials directly to these subjects by class period.
Teachers will have such features as taking attendance, blocking apps, polling student comprehension, pushing specific materials to students who need it, and the ability to build custom lesson plans or “Playlists” that include content from digital textbooks or Khan Academy. The device isn't available to all carriers yet and as at now its works on yearly subscriptions.

The Amplify tablet is also available with LTE for $349. However, the two-year subscription at $99 per year is still required and the cost of mobile data through AT&T will run $179 per year.
