The Federal Government has set up a board of inquiry to investigate the attack on Nigeria’s Embassy in Dakar.

Olugbenga Ashiru, Minister of Foreign Affairs, gave this hint, yesterday, at an investigative hearing held by the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Said Ashiru: “ We have constituted a board of inquiry to find out the causes of the problem and proffer solutions.”

He stated that in order to prevent such incidents in the future, a team of inspectors, officials of the ministry, office of Nigeria Security Adviser, NSA and Nigeria Intelligene Agency, NIA, had been set up to visit all Nigerian embassies in the sub-region.

He said that a strong protest had been lodged with the Senegalese authorities over the failure of the police to respond promptly.

In her submission, Mrs. Katyen Jackden, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Senegal, said a distress call was made to the nearest police station some few meters away from the Chancery for help, but they responded 30 minutes later.

They have set-up a BOARD OF INQUIRY to travel to Dakar, stay in an all expense paid Hotel, drive around in convoys, eat good food, collect pocket money(allowance), all being paid for by Tax payers.. angry

If the Government wants to know whats wrong with the Nigerian Embassies, they dont need to step out of their offices just yet. Simply set-up a website and spread the words to Nigerians in Diaspora to make complaints and name officials that are problematic. I bet you that in under 1 week, they will recieve over 1 million responses, complete with names of officials, addresses of the embassies and even pictures.

Nigerian embassy officials are a bunch of shameless goats that have succeeded in showing that Nigeria is a useless country to the entire world. The Senegalese embassy matter was not an attack, simply a protest by Nigerians.

Yes this is necessary, a 10 man committee has to be set up so they can visit Senegal and make a thorough and first hand assessment of the violence situation 'allegedly' perpetuated by hoodlums who they can't ascertain to be Nigerians, they are expected to submit a white paper to the adhoc committee who ll be waiting in Nigeria to analyze the event.
Naija I hail thee!

Why Nigerians attacked embassy in Senegal – Envoy
The recent attack on Nigerian Embassy building in Dakar, Senegal was as a result of alleged disappearance of death body of a Nigerian from a hospital morgue, Nigerian Ambassador to Senegal, Mrs. Katyen Jackden, has said.
Speaking before members of the House of Representatives committee on Foreign Affairs yesterday in Abuja, Mrs. Jackden said the body of a Nigerian by name Kingsley Irogbulam was said to have disappeared from a hospital’s morgue in Dakar.
According to Jackden, Mr Irogbulam was allegedly pushed out of a moving taxi about October last year, an action that led to the arrest of five persons already facing trial in Dakar, but that when the burial committee, headed by one Pastor Vitalis Ugor made efforts to recover his body for burial in February, it was curiously informed that the body had been disposed of.
She further disclosed that on getting the information, the embassy responded by urging the Senegalese authorities to ensure a thorough investigation into the killing and also approved CFA95,000 (about US $200) to assist the burial committee procure a casket as well as pay the grave diggers and transport the body for burial.
She said the enraged Nigerians reportedly broke into Nigeria’s embassy building on February 4, 2013 and attack staff members, as well desecrating the Nigerian flag and destroyed other property, after subduing the security guards at the gate.
“If we do not use Senegal (the incident) as an example, it will happen elsewhere. There must be a disincentive for that,” said Rep. Nnenna Elendu-Ukeje who chairs the Foreign Affairs committee.

See let me tell you guys the reason, i have a friend who live in senegal he told me that the reason why nigerians reacted that day was because the the nigerian embassador rarely respond to them anytime they need there help and another thing there was, there is a nigerian guy that was killed by a group of senegalese but nigerian embassy was adamant to respond even when they hear the story, so when nigerian boys went to christain burial ground to burry him, on reaching there they found out his courpse was not there that the embassy have already burried him secretly without the knowledge of nigerians to seal the matter. Nigerians was very annoyed that why they went to protest undecided

It shows that the Senegalese police must have compromised. Are the police the same everywhere?

The Federal Government should make the investigation to be holistic, for instance, are there no security operatives operatives in Dakar that could have urgently responded to salvage such ugly situation, or is there a collaboration with authorities in Dakar to execute such sabotage by these unscrupulous agents.

But the name be like Chinesee ooh, ......Ms Ket Yin. Jackishine, am sorry, if I ddnt pronounce it well, Her Honourable, is my tongue, but since when they told you that you can bury a Nigerian with N20,000 without telling his next of king abi, na you think that we don't respect culture again? As of now I believe that you have finished with the investigation with the Senegalese authority, so can you tell us what the motive of killing a Nigerian was, because Senealese should not start to kill foreigners in their territory or are they trying to become racist .

maybe because nothing justifies the action. If it was Senegalese people responsible, Johnathan should invite their ambassador in Nigeria for a proper dressing down and grilling. If the perpetrators are Nigerians, Johnathan needs to go on television or someone high up in government needs to go on television to address the people of this nation on how to comport themselves on matters of this nature. Frankly the act was quite primitive.

I couldn't careless if when you visit Nigerian embassy they throw dish water at you through the top window, you do not attack or destroy your own EMBASSY
