Matthew Ashimolowo, the most successful Nigerian pastorpruener in the UK is 61 today. Born on March 17 1952, Pastor Ashimolowo is the founder and owner of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London. Forbes estimates Pastor Ashimolowo's net worth at between $6m and 10m and KICC's annual accounts confirm that he earns an annual salary of £100,000. The bulk of Pastor Ashimolowo's wealth comes from the sale of Christian literature and documentaries through his media company, Matthew Ashimolowo Media. He subscribes to and teaches success in what has become the unique Nigerian doctrine of prosperity theology. Kind of like the Latin American liberation theology that preaches social justice, prosperity theology teaches how to become wealthy and successful in business. Pastor Ashimolowo converted to Christianity from Islam at the age of 22 after the death of his father before enrolling with a bible school. Among other things, he owns a university in Nigeria today.
