Hoodlums Snatch ACN National Vice Chairman (south-east), Demand N30m Ransom by coninse: 5:18pm On Mar 20, 2013 |
The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), says its Vice Chairman (South-east), Dr. Chudi Nwike, was kidnapped in Anambra State yesterday, and the kidnappers want N30million in foreign currency for his release. Raising the alarm in a statement in Lagos by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party quoted Nwike's younger brother, who has been contacted by the victim,as saying the kidnappers have demanded the ransom. ''We appeal to the security agencies to do everything within their power to ensure the safe release of Dr. Nwike, while assuring his family of our prayers and support at this very difficult time,'' the statement said. Obasanjo introduced kidnapping of Politicians in Nigeria. At least they need their own Amnesty. By the way, the amnesty given to the kidnappers in Abia State was cancelled and the Amnesty Register was used to trace them to their homes until they were all either extra judiciously assassinated or dropped at prisons as awaiting trial criminals. Political Kidnapping is a crime in Nigeria. It's not limited to any region of the country and as such should be condemned with the strongest terms without tribalizing the discussion. |
