I just read part of a circular dated July 10,2010 sent to President Goodluck Jonathan by National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission indicating the following as salaries for Military officers:

Salary Structure Of Top Military Officers

Lt-Col/Wing Commander/Navy Commander N3,380,086 p.a.

Colonel/Group Captain/Navy Captain N3,715,859 p.a.

Brigadier Gen/Air Commodore/Navy Commodore N7,385,856 p.a.

Maj-Gen/Air Vice Marshal/Rear Admiral N12,038,945 p.a.

Lt-Gen/Air Marshal/Vice Admiral receives N13,363,229.00 p.a.

Generals N16,303,140.00 p.a.

Obviously the military is no longer poorly paid. I am assuming that even a private in the army (the lowest rank) will be earning at least N50,000 per month or N600,000 per annum. If this is the case-then there is the possibility that proffesionalism will truly return to the military.

Does anyone know what the Police salary structure is?

I think coup is not fashionable any more through out the world.
Coup planning is more difficult unlike before. The armory is more decentralized now
