Somehow, everyone wishes they belonged to the billionaire’s club and with the first thought of this comes the desire for the kind of lifestyle you’d have knowing your company is worth that much ...snazzy!
But then, will you think again for having to take advice from someone who has built a billion dollar business only in her mind? Perhaps or perhaps not!

Thinking it not wise to take advice from a novice may likely leave you in the position of IBM when they realised they would have bought big time into that little nerdy guys Microsoft windows idea before he hit everyone’s dream trail producing some of the world’s fastest billionaires ever in history.

So reading this article may make you feel like a student sitting in a class being lectured by a management professor who necessarily need not prove the already proven management theories by getting himself practical business success but who feels he can make you gain momentum for yourself and earn that degree you so badly desire.
So, to start a company with the potential to hit a million dollars, in our case, one hundred and sixty million naira, it should have the following traits;

• Have a great idea that everybody wants: How do you know an idea is a great one? This is an idea that holds the potential to draw in the multitude, one many people will love to participate in like buying its products like we do powder milk sachets, using its products for free like we gladly do on facebook, yahoo, nairaland etc. Yeah, it meets them at a certain point of their direst needs.
• Give structure to the idea: By providing structure to the idea, we mean giving it a life of its own, a body. Have a concrete plan on how you wish to go about executing the idea and how much it will cost you.

• Innovations: If the idea is in an existing or trending industry, be smart, innovate on the idea and come out with something loud, new and different.

• Let it serve people in their millions: If the product or service that comes out of your idea is worth one dollar, how many will you need to sell to record one billion dollar worth of sales? Yes, you answered correctly – one billion products. To whom? One billion people. Well, one billion people are one seventh of the earth’s population (now that’s everyone in china), every business person dreams of being so lucky. So if the product sells for $100 i.e. N16, 000:00, how much will you need to sell to make one billion dollars in sales? 10 million products to perhaps 10 million people but since people make multiple purchases when they love a product, like Nigerians do with the Blackberry PDA, so you are still in luck because you don’t need 10 million people, maybe one million people buying in a multitude of 10 times each – now you see the big picture. Me thinking, big papa Dangote's banging in the big 'B's because of these rules - hey, the largest cement manufacturer in Nigeria selling to the largest African market - 150 million Nigerians. Can he go wrong? Nada!

So, the most important part, get to work on that great idea right now, that’s the first ticket to Eldorado.
