Ok folks i need to help a colleage make a choice bw the two cars based on reliability, performance n above all general economy or pocket friendly. Audi 80 1993 aka tiger face 1.8E engine I4 auto transmission nissan primera 1.8l slx I4 auto transmission i adviced him to go for the audi bc it seems stronger body wise n being a german product ll b more durable n shld perform better. But I dnt kw abt its fuel economy n reliability. He doesnt want any car dt ll put a big hole in his pocket. He has 500k n wants low mileage toks car. My gud ppl of nl ur advice is needed here pls. . |

I would prefer the Audi myself - it is the better performer, is tougher and parts are relatively cheap, by German can standards. One thing I must point out though - in 1993, there was no 1,8L option on the Audi 80. The 1,8L was fitted up to 1991, just before the facelift from B3 to B4 (with the grille in the hood). The 1,8S (90hp) was replaced by the 1,6 100hp, while the 1,8E (112hp) was replaced by the 2,0E (115 hp). The 1,6 (100hp) or 2,0 (115hp) will perform better than the primera. The 2,0 not have gas mileage as good as the Primera's though. The Audi 80 is fully galvanised, which means rust will not bee an issue. You can have body damage with the paint chipped off, yet the exposed metal will remain clean grey, not red and rusty. Audi 80 has been galvanised since the B3 model was launched back in September 1986. The 1,6 was not available with automatic trans though. There is a base model 2,0 with 90hp, which has good gas mileage though. It was badged 2.0 rather than 2.0E of the 112hp model. |

Thanks siena for being generous with ur knowledge. U advice he gets 2.0 90hp as it has gud fuel economy, can dt be found in 1993 model, hop its auto. |

Pls don't ever compare German wit Japanese car in terms of performance, durability, reliability n ruggedness. U can only compare the two when talking of the fuel mileage. I stand to be corrected dat the worst german made car is better than the best Japan made car in terms of durability, performance, reliability n ruggedness. Siena has said it all.
