One Muhammad Marwana, who claimedto be a member of the group while speaking to the Voice of America Hausa Service, said the stories released to the press by JTF were ‘lies and fabrication.’
“I swear to God, the Almighty that those killed were not our members. They were only residents in the area. There was only a woman who was thewife of one of our members who was also killed but not a single member of our group was killed,” he said.
“I want to confirm that those who were killed were not our members. They (JTF) are spreading propaganda to newspapers that theykilled our members; it is not true. They are only killing innocent people in disguise,” hewas quoted as saying.

The people killed by the JTF were shooting at the JTF, so they were not innocent.

You should also find it funny that boko haram never recognize a dead terrorist as its member, but it does recognize the terrorists in jail as members. So on the one hand it is saying the JTF does know how to find its members and on the other it says the JTF is cluesless and is attacking only "innocent" people.
