GARVEYISM

Started in the early 19th century by Marcus Garvey, a native Jamaican transplant to the USA, this movement gave rise to many more movements and groups known by different names. Some survive to this day.

Struggle to free slaves and end slavery, especially in the Americas.

African Independence Movement, 20th century
Struggle to rid Africa of colonialism and European imperialism.
