GARVEYISM Started in the early 19th century by Marcus Garvey, a native Jamaican transplant to the USA, this movement gave rise to many more movements and groups known by different names. African Independence Movement, 20th century Struggle to rid Africa of colonialism and European imperialism. Related: Nnamdi Azikiwe, Mau-Mau, Anti-Apartheid movement We can break this down further. Lots of other movements, organisations and many individual countries came out of this umbrella. |
