Premier League: Best Xi Of All Time by SexyPooja1(m): 6:46am On Apr 18, 2013
It ranges from players who began when the league started in 1992/93 season to now, the 2012/13 campaign.

Formation (4-4-2)

MANAGER: SIR ALEX FERGUSON (MANCHESTER UNITED)
The obvious choice - beating Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho to the crown with 12 Premier League titles, five FA Cups, four League Cups and 10 Charity/Community Shields to his name. Arguably the greatest manager ever to have lived.

GOALKEEPER: PETER SCHMEICHEL (MANCHESTER UNITED)
A member of the treble winning team in 1999, the great Dane's big presence and outstanding shot stopping makes him our number one. Edwin van der Sar was the closest person to replacing him between the sticks at United but even he was not in the same bracket.

RIGHT-BACK: GARY NEVILLE (MANCHESTER UNITED)
England's long serving defender was formidable when at Old Trafford. He built an excellent partnership with David Beckham down the right side and his ability to attack as well as defend makes him our best right back.

His defensive attributes edge him above everyone else as many full-backs these days are converted from wingers and their defensive duties get undone too regularly.

CENTRE-BACK: JOHN TERRY (CHELSEA)
Another successful player also known as the leader and he captain's the side. His organisation, motivational speeches and ability to lead by example make him an obvious selection.

He's won everything from the domestic title, FA Cups, League Cups and the illustrious Champions League. Excellent professional on the pitch.

CENTRE-BACK: NEMANJA VIDIC (MANCHESTER UNITED)
The Serbian is a solid as they come. His bravery, strength and skill to read the game make him the second centre-half. He proved to be a bargain for Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford and he beats the likes of Jaap Stam and Sami Hyypia to the award.

LEFT-BACK: ASHLEY COLE (ARSENAL/CHELSEA)
A member of the 100 England caps club who is also the most decorated FA Cup winner ever. Winning titles at Arsenal and Chelsea shows what an outstanding career he has had.

His energy is second to none and defensively he is one of the greatest ever left-backs in the world.

RIGHT-MIDFIELD: CRISTIANO RONALDO (MANCHESTER UNITED)
His final two seasons at Old Trafford took the Premier League to a different level. His goal scoring exploits earned him a world record breaking £80m move to Real Madrid.

His hard work and natural technical ability makes him arguably the best footballer on the planet at present and many neutrals will be hoping he can make a move back to the greatest league in the world.

CENTRE-MIDFIELD: PAUL SCHOLES (MANCHESTER UNITED)
He is the best passer of a ball since the Premier League began. Both short and long he dictated games for years and years and still he can put in a good shift.

Players such as Xavi and Zidane idolise him which is a compliment itself and England sorely missed him when he retired early from the international scene.

CENTRE-MIDFIELD: FRANK LAMPARD (WEST HAM/CHELSEA)
He has been a goal machine ever since he stepped on the Upton Park turf. He then joined Chelsea and has only improved season-in season-out.

He has scored over 200 goals for Chelsea and he has hit over 150 Premier League goals. He's an outstanding footballer and Chelsea will be sorry if they don't renew his contract.

LEFT-MIDFIELD: RYAN GIGGS (MANCHESTER UNITED)
He was there on the first day the league started. He has gone on to win endless amounts of trophies and has set a record of appearances which will possibly never be beaten.

The Welsh wizard has scored several fantastic goals and has notched a goal in ever single season which is 21 in a row and counting. He is a wonderful player and in his day had pace to burn and still his stamina is as good as the other top stars now.

STRIKER: ALAN SHEARER (BLACKBURN/NEWCASTLE)
The highest Premier League goal scorer ever. He has 260 goals for former champions Blackburn Rovers and two-time runners-up Newcastle United.

A true legend in the game who cut his England career short having bagged 30 goals in just 63 appearances. The Geordie's record goals record will take some beating and will continue to last a few seasons yet.

STRIKER: THIERRY HENRY (ARSENAL)
Arsenal's talisman in the 'Invincibles' team. He is also their record goal scorer after being converted from a left winger to a striker by Arsene Wenger.

He scored some incredible goals both individually and linking up with his team-mates and his inclusion is justified ahead of some outstanding strikers.

SUBSTITUTES WHO COULD EASILY BE INCLUDED:

David Seaman
Sami Hyypia
Patrick Vieira
David Beckham
David Ginola
Robert Pires
Gianfranco Zola
