The mass rejection of Alhaji Farouk Yabo, the commissioner for Local Government as the successor to Governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko in the forthcoming 2015 general did not go down well with Governor Wamakko.
Wamakko, against the interest of the people of Sokoto has anointed Yabo as his successor. But generality of the people of the state are supporting the candidature of Yusuf Suleiman and Bello Guiwa.
It was against that background that Wamakko in a meeting with his supporters on Friday night, April 12, 2013 directed his thugs to attack anybody opposing Yabo as his successor.
We call on Sokoto people to oppose any imposition. Our state is NOT for sale. The police should arrest anyone that attempt to intimidate or attack anybody.
